1 Distribution / Signage Requirements Primary Monolith Primary signage features only the Cummins logo and is required for all locations unless an exception is granted. Exceptions will be granted for locations such as office towers where a monolith is not an option, locations where space does not permit a monolith, and locations such as a test track or parking facility where no offices or manufacturing sites exist. Architectural and zoning considerations may warrant an exception as well. Business unit names, building names, addresses and directions are not permitted on the primary monolith. Examples are shown in the Monolith section. Primary Monument Monument-style signs are available as the required primary signage for locations where overhead line-of-sight limitations such as bridges and trees make shorter signs more visible. Examples are shown in the Primary Monument section. Secondary Monument Secondary monuments are not required when a primary sign exists, but may be used in addition to primary signage. Secondary monuments may include business unit lockups, facility names and multiple business names located in one facility. Monument signs may not be used as directional signs. Examples are shown in the Secondary Monument section. Primary And Secondary Wall-Mounted And Hanging Signs For locations where monolith and monument-style signs can t be used, wall signs may be used. Business unit names, building names, addresses and directions are not permitted on the primary wall sign. Examples are shown in the Primary Wall-Mounted section. Wall-mounted signs may be used as secondary signage and may include business unit lockups, facility names and multiple business names located in one facility. Secondary wall-mounted signs may not be used as directional signs. Examples are shown in the Secondary Wall-Mounted section. Primary and secondary signs may be used as hanging signs if necessary. Directional And Informational Signs Cummins locations are required to conform to Cummins brand standards for all signage, including directional and informational signs. These signs feature a radius face and red, black and white colors. Directional / Informational signs may be pole- or wall-mounted or hanging. Flat fencemounted signs are included in the Directional / Informational examples. The design of arrow styles, handicapped parking and no-parking symbols, and any other graphics will be consistent globally. Introduction of any design elements not shown in these standards must be approved by the Brand Council. When To Use Logos On Directional / Informational Signs The Cummins logo a ess unit lockups should not be used on most Directional / Informational signage. Exceptions would be for signs that welcome visitors, menu signs and signs near entrances that have a minimum amount of information. For locations such as remote parking areas, test tracks, airplane hangars, etc., that need to be identified as Cummins property, but house few or no employees, a Directional / Informational sign may be used as the primary sign. Prohibited Elements No other company logos are permitted on Cummins signs. Use of two Cummins logos is not permitted on the same side of any sign. This includes a Cummins logo and a lockup used together. The logo for a product or service may be used alone on an informational sign but may not be used on the same sign with the Cummins logo. When used with the Cummins logo or business unit lockup, products and services should be represented in type only. Multiple product logos may not be used together but may be used together in type only. See the example of menu signs in the Directional / Informational section. Since the Cummins name is included in the logo, Cummins Inc. may not be used following the Cummins logo on signage. An exception may be made if Cummins Inc. is part of a longer message.

2 Size Standards A family of standard sizes has been created and a single supplier chosen for Cummins signage worldwide. To achieve consistency in all countries, build equity in our brand and avoid any investment in signage that does not enhance our brand, these standards are to be strictly enforced. Detailed technical specifications have been created for our signage supplier to control the type of materials and construction methods used and to ensure that all signs are of a high and consistent quality globally. Standard sizes help achieve a lower cost per sign for the most commonly used sizes, but signs of any size can be made. All signs, regardless of size, must conform to the signage standards and technical specifications. Primary Monolith The primary sign for most Cummins facilities consists of a monolith-style sign that features the Cummins logo on a red background with a solid black base and is offered in the three standard sizes shown in the examples below. Sizes other than the standard sizes will be priced and created as required. The majority of the sign is aluminum with a dimensional polycarbonate Cummins logo lighted from inside. The exterior of the sign will be lighted from ground level. The design may not be changed from the approved standard and no additional elements, names or logos are permitted.

3 Primary Monument While the tall monolith may be a more pleasing proportion, some line-of-sight situations limit the visibility of taller signs, so the primary sign is offered in three monument styles that allow for a shorter sign that is still large and visible from a distance. 6 ft 10 3/4 in x 7 ft 8 1/2 in 2.1 m x 2.4 m 10 ft x 11 ft 1 9/16 in 3 m x 3.4 m 11 ft 10 in x 13 ft 2 in 3.6 m x 4 m The purpose of the primary sign is to promote the master brand with no other information to draw attention away from the logo. 4 Secondary Signage The purpose of secondary signage is to provide a design that identifies corporate, plant, business unit and distributor facilities in a consistent manner globally while remaining focused on the objective of enhancing the master brand. This design also provides a format for placing facility names with the Cummins logo in a consistent manner that meets brand standards. Product names, logos, addresses, phone numbers and directional information are not permitted on secondary signage. Refer to Directional / Informational signage included in this section of the Brand Standards site. Secondary Monument The secondary monument is offered in the two standard sizes shown below. Facility names use the Proximity Level 2 standard, as described in the Logo section, which requires type stacked beside the Cummins logo to maintain a distance from the logo equal to one width of, and aligned with, the top of the Cummins logo. To maintain a consistent type size globally, facility names in relation to the Cummins logo must match the font size and line spacing of business unit lockups in which two lines of type are equal to the height of the upper leg and space between the legs. 5 Secondary Monument Multiple Businesses Facilities housing two major businesses may list both businesses on one monument, as shown below, but monument signs are not to be used to list or describe every group or type of work performed in the facility. Signs with multiple business names may only use the Cummins logo once on each side. The type size for multiple business names may be smaller than other signs if necessary and should include adequate separation between the names to clearly show that two businesses share the facility. The names must use the Proximity Level 2 standard. The two sizes shown below are standard sizes. Cummins is to be represented with only one Cummins logo on any one application. Redundant logos are not permitted.

6 Primary/Secondary Wall-Mounted Wall-mounted signs are available in five standard sizes that can be used as primary or secondary signage and to replace existing dealer signage. These are interior-lighted signs with a curved face and raised logo made of polycarbonate set in an aluminum frame. The white logo on a red field matches other primary and secondary Cummins signage. This is the brand standard for new signage and may not be altered. 8 Primary/Secondary Hanging Hanging double-sided signs are available in one standard size designed to replace existing dealer signage and can be used as primary or secondary signage where appropriate. These are interior-lighted signs with curved faces and raised logos made of polycarbonate set in an aluminum frame. These may be hung from wall-mounted brackets or from poles. The white logo on a red field matches other primary and secondary Cummins signage. This is the brand standard for new signage and may not be altered. 9 Directional / Informational A family of directional and informational signage has been created to ensure that our brand style carries over to all Cummins signs, no matter how small or insignificant they might seem. By using this signage system, our directional and informational signage will be consistent in size, height, color, shape, material and design. Standard sizes have been selected to create efficiencies in fabrication, but other sizes may also be created to fit a given space, serve a special purpose or accommodate obstructions. Sample graphics, based on typical applications, represent the style, color and placement of type and images in the system. Actual words and directions will be created for every location based on a site survey and recommendations from signage professionals. The type font for all directional information is Helvetica Bold. Helvetica Bold The signs are fabricated from aluminum and feature curved faces that match other Cummins signage and are available as one- or two-sided signs in pole- or wall-mounted versions. Some signs include a space for a logo as an option. These sign layout examples adhere to standards for aligning type with the logo and must be followed carefully. 14 Fence-Mounted Signs Flat metal signs attached to fences will be created, where needed, based on a site survey. These signs must conform to other Directional / Informational signage in appearance and graphic style and must be hung with proper fasteners. Hanging signs with wire or zip-ties and do-it-yourself signs is not permitted.

15 Vinyl Door/Window Signs It is common to place a company logo or logo and facility name on or near the front entrance of a building. Die-cut vinyl decals are an attractive, inexpensive way to apply decals to glass doors or windows. While there are many types, styles and configurations of doors, these standards help provide a common size and placement for most typical entrances. Single Door For a single door with a Cummins logo, the standard logo size is 8 in (200 mm) and should be placed in the center of the door with the bottom of the logo 5 ft (1.5 m) from the bottom of the door. On clear-glass doors, the inside usually appears dark from the outside, so white vinyl should be used unless the glass has white or another light color behind it. 8 in (200 mm) 5 ft (1.5 m)

16 Logo And Facility Name When placing a facility name beside the Cummins logo, use the Proximity Level 2 standard as described in the Logo section which requires type stacked beside the Cummins logo to maintain a distance from the logo equal to one width of, and aligned with, the top of the Cummins logo. Since a logo and a facility name carries more visual weight than a logo alone, the size of the Cummins logo will be smaller when used with a facility name. The standard logo size is 6 in (150 mm) and should be placed in the center of the door with the bottom of the logo 5 ft (1.5 m) from the bottom of the door. To maintain a consistent type size globally, facility names in relation to the Cummins logo should match the font size and line spacing of business unit lockups in which two lines of type are equal to the height of the upper leg and space between the legs. 17 Double Doors A single logo may be placed on or beside either door. To avoid redundant logos, do not place a logo on each door. Size and location is the same as on a single door. When a facility name is included, place the Cummins logo on the left and the facility name on the right.

18 Revolving Doors If a logo is placed on a revolving door it will always appear backward on one door, so logos should be placed on the stationary doors or beside the door if space permits.
