Reort any damage to the container to the freight carrier immediately. ) Remove any shiing material laced in the inlet and outlet of the meter. (his is done to revent damage caused by movement of the float during shiing) ) Make sure your ressure, temerature, fluid and other requirements are comatible with the meter and comonents. ) Select a suitable location for installation to revent excess stress on the meter which may result from: a) Misaligned ie. b) he weight of related lumbing. c) Water Hammer which is most likely to occur when flow is suddenly stoed as with quick closing solenoid oerated valves. (If necessary, a surge chamber should be installed. his will also be useful in ressure start-u situations.) d) hermal exansion of liquid in a stagnated or valve isolated system. e) Instantaneous ressurization which will stress the meter and could result in tube failure. NOE: In closed thermal transfer or cooling systems, install the meter in the cool side of the line to minimize meter exansion and contraction and ossible fluid leaks at the threaded connections. ) Handle the meter carefully during installation. a) Use an aroriate amount of teflon tae on external ie threads before making connections. Do not use aste or stick tye thread sealing roducts. ) Install the meter vertically with the inlet ort at the bottom. 7) Meters with stainless steel fittings will suort several feet of ie as long as significant vibration or stress resulting from misaligned ie are not factors. 8) Meters used in gas service should have suitable valves lumbed in at the inlet and outlet of the meter. hese valves should be no more than -/ ie diameters from the meter orts. he valve at the outlet should be used to create back ressure as required to revent float bounce. It should be set initially and then left alone. he inlet valve should be used for throttling uroses. Deending on the installation, valves may not be essential, but they are most useful in many installations. Remember: o get a correct reading of flow in gas service, it is necessary to know the ressure right at the outlet of the meter (before the valve). When it comes to flow...we re instrumental. (7)

2 ADDIIONALLY 770 Series meters are designed for vertical installation only. (Inlet at bottom, Outlet at to) Do not remove or adjust the screws on the back of the indicator housing. hese screws were ositioned during factory calibration and reresent the zero adjustment. If the ointer is set on zero, roceed with installation. If the ointer is not set at zero, follow these stes: ) Remove front cover with gasket and shield from indicator housing. ) Loosen set screw at the base of the ointer hub. ) Reosition ointer to zero line. ) ighten set screw with a / allen wrench by holding the ointer hub and gently tightening the set screws. ) Relace front cover with gasket and shield on indicator housing. CAUION Zero is factory set when meter is calibrated. DO NO loosen screws that fasten indicator housing to meter body. If indicator housing is moved, the meter will need to be calibrated. Max Non-Shock Pressure and emerature em Stainless Steel Flange Class F 0# sig 00# sig Note: he maximum ambient temerature for the indicator housing is 00 F CAUION *Do not use cleaning agents that will damage float or tube. Meters should be cleaned with a mild soa solution. his will be an effective cleaner of rust stains. Caution must be used so that materials of construction are not damaged by cleaning solutions. Hard water deosits can be removed with % acetic acid solution (vinegar). REPAIR 770 meters that require reair should be sent to the factory. Please call for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and return instructions. WARNING Pressure and temerature ratings are based on a study of the engineering data for articular materials used in construction and on the design of individual models. his information is sulemented by destructive test results. Meters with stainless enclosures must never be oerated without shields securely in lace. Meters exosed to difficult environments such as those created by certain chemicals, excessive vibration or other stress inducing factors could fail at or below the suggested maximums. Never oerate meters above ressure and temerature maximums. It is strongly recommended that all meter installations utilize an aroriate ressure relief valve and/or ruture disc. he ressure settings and locations of these devices should be such that meters cannot be over ressurized. Meter failure could result in damage to equiment and serious ersonal injury. Always use suitable safety gear, including OSHA aroved eye rotection when working around meters in service. OVERALL DIMENSIONS INDICAOR HO Do not loosen nuts that fasten indicator housing to metering tube. If the relationshi of meter tube and indicator housing are changed, meter must be calibrated. Serious roerty damage and great ersonal injury could occur as the result of a meter misused or used in an unsuitable alication. All necessary instrument comonents are now fully accessible for cleaning with a bottle brush and aroriate mild soa solution*. Before the meter is reassembled, insect all arts for damage. o reassemble, carefully guide the magnetic float back into the tube. Reinstall and tighten inlet float sto and outlet float sto.
