See Figure 3. Failure to immediately place the input plug on the shorting receptacle may result in damage to the voltage sensors and voltage limiters that will render the automatic-transfer scheme inoperative. This procedure short-circuits and isolates the secondaries of the voltage sensors, if furnished, and isolates the voltage transformers. Step 5 Remove the left-hand entrance bay plug and the righthand entrance bay plug from their receptacles on the programming panel. See Figure 3. On Type AT-2 controls, make note of which source is the preferred and which is the alternate, so that the replacement control can be set accordingly. f thecontrol isfurnished with optional remote-indication feature (Catalog Number Suffix -Al ): Also remove the remoteindication output plug from its associated receptacle on the programming panel. Step 6 Make note of the tuner-adjustment dial settings on the programming panel, as well as the settings of the operating-mode selector switches on the programming panel, so that the replacement control can be set accordingly. See Figure 3. step 10 Connect the ground wire to the underside of the replacement Type AT control enclosure. See Figure 4. Step 11 Set the timer adjustment dials and operating-mode selector switches on the programming panel of the replacement Type AT control in accordance with the settings of the replaced control, as noted in Step 6. step 12 Place the manual/automatic operation selector switch on the replacement Type AT control faceplate in the MANUAL position. See Figure 1. step 13 Connect the left-hand entrance bay plug and the righthand entrance bay plug to their receptacles on the programming panel of the replacement Type AT control. See Figure 3. On Type AT-2 controls, make sure that the preferred and alternate settings are in accordance with the designations noted in Step 5. f the control is furnished with optional remoteindicationfeature (Catalog NumberSuflix -Al ): Also connect the remote-indication output plug to its associated receptacle on the programming panel of the replacement Type AT control. Telescoping support raiir Step 7 Discpnnect the ground wire from the underside of the Type AT control enclosure. See Figure 4. Step 8 Remove and retain the four W-20X W hex-head stainless-steel cap screws and lo&washers at the top and bottom of the Type AT control enclosure, which secure the control to the telescoping support rails. See Figure 2. Then remove the Type AT control. Step 9 Set the replacement Type AT control into place and secure it to the telescoping support rails using the W-20X W hex-head stainless-steel cap screws and lockwashers retained from Step 8. See Figure 3. Step 16 After operational testing has been completed, again place the manual/automatic operation selector switch on the replacement Type AT control faceplate in the MANUAL position. See Figure 1. step 17 Unlock the latch at the rear of the replacement Type AT control and slou& push the control into the switchgear-bay stile. Secure the control in the stile by tightening the screw fastener. See Figure 2. step 15 Refer to nstruction Sheet , S&C Source- Transfer Controls-Type AT-2: For Two-Way Transfer, Catalog Numbers and or nstruction Sheet , S&C Source-Transfer Controls-Type AT-3: For Two-Way Transfer with Bus-Tie Switch, Catalog Numbers and and perform the procedures described therein in the ADJUSTMENTS AND PROGRAMMNG section. Then perform the procedures described therein in the OPERATONAL TESTNG (EXERCSNG) section. step 18 Couple the Type MS-2 or Type AS-30 Switch Operators. Refer to the S&C instruction sheet furnished for the switch operators. step 19 Place the manual/automatic operation selector switch on the replacement Type AT control faceplate in the AUTOMATC position and confirm that the automatic-transfer ready indicating lamp is illuminated. See Figure 5. Step 2 Decouple the Type AS-1A or Type AS-10 Switch Operators. Refer to the S&C instruction sheet furnished for the switch operators. Step 3 Remove the voltage-transformer secondary fuses and grounding circuit slugs. See Figure 5. Step 4 Remove the source 1 plug and the source 2 plug from their receptacles. See Figure 5. Make note of which source is the preferred and which is the alternate, so that the replacement control can be set accordingly. f the control is furnished with optional remoteindication feature (CatubgNumberSuff.irr: -A1 T):Also remove the remote-indication output plug from its associated receptacle. step 5 Make note of the timer-adjustment dial settings, as well as the settings of the operating-mode selector switches, so that the replacement control can be set accordingly. See Figure 5. Step 6 llisconnect the ground wire from the underside of the Type AT-2 control. See Figure 5. Step 7 Remove and retain the four % -2OX% hex-head stainless-steel cap screws and lockwashers at the top and bottom of the Type AT-2 control, which secure the control to weatherproof enclosure. See Figure 5. Then remove the Type AT-2 control. Step 8 Set the replacement Type AT-2 control into place and secure it to the weatherproof enclosure using the Vi 20 X % hex-head stainless-steel cap screws and lockwashers retained from Step 7. See Figure 5. Step 10 Set the timer adjustment dials and operating-mode selector switches on the replacement Type AT-2 control in accordance with the settings of the replaced control, as noted in Step 5. Step 11 Place the manual/automatic operation selector switch on the replacement Type AT-2 control in the MANUAL position. See Figure 5. Step 12 Connect the source 1 plug and the source 2 plug to their receptacles on the replacement Type AT-2 control. See Figure 5. Make sure that the preferred and alternate source settings are in accordance with the designations noted in Step 4. f the control isfumzished with optional remote-indication feature (Catalog Number Suffix -A1 9: Also connect the remoteindication output plug to its associated receptacle on the replacement Type AT control. Step 13 Replace the voltage-transformer secondary fuses and grounding circuit slugs. See Figure 5. step 14 Refer to nstruction Sheet , S&C Source- Transfer Controls--Type AT-2: n Weatherproof Enclosures and perform the procedures described therein in the ADJUSTMENTS AND PROGRAMMNG section. Then perform the procedures described therein in the OPERATONAL TESTNG section. Step 15 After operational testing has been completed, again place the manual/automatic operation selector switch on the replacement Type AT-2 control in the MANUAL position. See Figure 5. Note the R supplement to the catalog number... some of the steps which follow vary according to this R step 5 Remove the input plug from the input receptacle located below the programming panel and immediately transfer it to the shorting receptacle. See Figure 9. step 1 Open the doors to low-voltage the control compartment and secure them with the door holders. step 2 Place the manual/automatic operation selector switch on the Type AT-12 control faceplate in the MANUAL position. See Figure 6. step 3 For pad-mounted gear models having an Rl, R2, or R3 supplement to the catalog number and furnished with optimal decoupling feature (Catalog Number Suffix C8 J): Decouple each stored-energy operator using the utility tool furnished. See Figure 7. For each stored-energy operator, open the hinged cover labeled Decoupling Socket. nsert the utility tool all the way into the soclcet to depress the spring-loaded locking pin. While maintaining the locking pin depressed, turn the utility tool counterclockwise 5 to 7 complete turns, until firm resistance is felt and the DECOUF LED target is centered in the indicator port. Remove the tool. Proceed to Step 4. For pad-mounted gear models having an R4 supplement to the catalog number: Decouple each stored-energy operator by grasping the associated decoupler and turning it counterclockwise 5 to 6 complete turns, until firm resistance is felt and the DECOUPLED target is centered in the indicator port. See Figure 8. Turn the utility tool in the direction indicated to either trip open or trip closed, as appropriate. Remove the tool. (a) Remove the bolted cover labeled Terminal Blocks on each side. See Figure 12. (b) f the pad-mounted gear is furnished with optional decoupling feature (Catalog NumberSuffKx -C8 3: Open the hinged cover labeled Decoupling Socket on each side and mark the position of each hinge plate on its associated bottom switch operator access panel, to facilitate reassembly. See Figure 7. Remove the two W-20 X M round-head stainlesssteel screws that secure each hinge plate to its associated bottom switch operator access panel. (c) Detach the bottom switch operator access panel on each side by removing the three or four 1/4-20 X % hex-head stainless-steel cap screws, lockwashers, and flat washers that secure each panel. See Figure 12. Retain the hardware. (d) Proceed to Step 13. step 10 For pad-mounted gear models having an R3 suppkrrwnt to the catalog number and horizontally split access panels as shown in Rgure 14: Remove the switch operator access panels from both the left-hand and right-hand sides of the low-voltage control compartment, using the following procedure. (a) Remove the bolted cover labeled Terminal Blocks on each side. See Figure 14. (b) Mark the positions of the middle and bottom stationary door latches on the center channel to facilitate reassembly. See Figure 14. (c) Detach the middle and bottom stationary door latches by removing the ~/1sf -18 X 1 hex-head zincplated cap screws and hex nuts that secure the latches in place. See Figure 14. Retain the hardware. (d) f the pad-mounted gear is furnished with optional decoupling feature (Catalog Number Suflk -C8 9: Open the hinged cover labeled Decoupling Socket on each side and mark the position of each hinge plate on its associated bottom switch operator access panel, to facilitate reassembly. See Figure 7. Remove the two /4-20X % round-head stainlesssteel screws that secure each hinge plate to its associated bottom switch operator access panel. Retain the hardware. f the pad-mounted gear is not furnished with optional o!6coupling feature: Remove the two h 20X % hex-head stainless-steel cap screws, lockwashers, and flat washers located near the center of each bottom switch operator access panel. See Figure 13. Retain the hardware. e) Detach the bottom switch operator access panel on each side by removing the three or four W-20 X% hex-head stainless-steel cap screws, lockwashers, and flat washers that secure each panel. See Figure 14. Retain the hardware. f) Proceed to Step 13. step 11 For pad-mounted gear models having an R3 supplement to the catalog number and vertically split access panels as shown in igure 15: Remove the switch operator vertical access panels from both the left-hand and right-hand sides of the low-voltage control compartment, using the following procedure. (a) Remove the bolted cover labeled Terminal Blocks on each side. See Figure 15. (b) f thepadimrvuntedgear isfumzished with optional decouplingfeature (Catalog Number SuffKx -C8 3: Open the hinged cover labeled Decoupling Socket on each side and mark the position of each hinge plate on its associated switch operator vertical access panel, to facilitate reassembly.
