2 INSTALLATION, OPERATION, MAINTENANCE & PARTS MANUAL It is recommended that this manual be read thoroughly and that all instructions be followed carefully. This manual should be retained for future reference. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OPERATE THIS UNIT IN THE EVEN OF A POWER FAILURE! ADEQUATE CLEARANCES MUST BE MAINTAINED FOR SAFE AND PROPER OPERATION! 4 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS SET-UP Ascertain correct position of skillet for tilting purposes on working surface. Approximately 30" (761mm) to front of base from wall. Be sure skillet tilts easily. Secure skillet by bolts provided to properly level working surface. Seal skillet to table top with Silastic or other sealing compound. SERVICE CONNECTIONS All internal wiring of skillet is complete. Make waterproof electrical connection from incoming lines to the control box. Ground skillet to terminal provided in control housing. A Wiring diagram is provided inside the control housing cover panel. NOTICE: All skillets have been factory tested for control and electrical heating elements.. IMPORTANT: Check for proper operation. (See Page 3 for Wiring Diagram.) 2

6 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Ascertain that the unit has been electrically connected and that circuit breakers are on. 2. Place power switch in "ON" position. 3. Set the thermostat dial to high. 4. Preheat the unit and allow it to cycle thus equalizing heat across the entire surface. 5. Cooking should be done at various temperature settings on the dial as determined by the user. 6. Water will boil faster with the optional cover on. 7. Check that the skillet optional lever bar, on the right side of the control panel moves in and out easily. This bar provides two set positions, level and slightly tilted. 8. At the end of the cooking cycle return thermostat to "OFF: position, turn the power switch "OFF", remove food and allow kettle to soak in warm water for easy cleaning during each use. (Be sure to refer to the cleaning instructions section on page 5 for the daily cleaning procedure.) 7 CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS NOTICE: AS A SAFETY PRECAUTION, DISCONNECT THE POWER SUPPLY DURING CLEANING AND SERVICING! DAILY CLEANING: The electric counter tilting skillet should be cleaned after every use. Soak cooking skillet and all skillet surfaces with mild soapy warm water to remove any food stuck to the surface. Rinse thoroughly and dry. WARNING: DO NOT GET WATER IN THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS! Check that pour spout, strainer, cover and side of the unit are cleansed as well as possible. UNIT WILL NOT OPERATE: Power supply not in "ON" position. TROUBLE-SHOOTING Defective "THERMOSTAT" or "ELEMENTS". PAN DIFFICULT TO OPERATE: Tilt Know not disengages. Dirt in oilite bearings causing it to bind. NOTE: Never grease or oil the pivot bearings as this may cause problems with tilting. Bearings are oilte and never require lubrication. 5
