3 Instructions for installation, operation and maintenance FK120/FK90 Fire damper 3 OPERATION AND AINTENANCE OPERATION Technical data and operation: see separate brochure. According to CE marking, the fire damper must close by means of a temperature-based tripping mechanism. The fire dampers are available either with a mechanical thermal fuse or an actuator motor. The motorized model may also be included a smoke-detection-based tripping mechanism. In such case, the fire damper should be connected to a control and monitoring system FICO delivered by Fläkt Woods. The system can also be used for the automatic function testing of fire dampers, without causing interruptions to system operation. FUNCTION TESTING Damper with thermal fuse:: Press the red testing lever, until the spring closes the damper blade. Watch out for the turning spring tensioning handle! Turn the blade back into the open position, until you hear the retaining clip snap. The function testing interval is determined separately for each building, however the test is to be performed at intervals not exceeding six months (EN 15650, 8.3) otorized damper: The function testing for the motorized model can be performed by cutting off the power supply by using the rocker switch of the thermal trip (BAE72B-S) connected to the motor. The spring should then close the blade. The function testing can also be done by means of the control and monitoring system FICO, either manually or automatically. The recommended function testing interval for the motorized model is 48 hours. AINTENANCE Perform the following measures in conjunction with periodical maintenance or possible repair work: Check that the fire damper casing is not damaged and that the blade can move freely. Check that the actuator is properly fastened onto damper casing and blade shaft. Check that the damper blade and sealings are undamaged. Check that the damper blade is completely open during normal operation. Check that the damper blade is able to close and open freely. WARNING! Never put your hands inside the damper while it is closing. CLEANING Clean the fire damper by means of a vacuum cleaner. Avoid chemical cleaning agents. SPARE PARTS Actuator: see type specification on the actuator. ANUFACTURER Wildeboer Bauteile GmbH
