1 PILOT OPERTED UNLODING VLVE - Series VR4U Veljan Unloadg Valves series VR4U are pilot operated controls and used to Internal Dra unload a circuit at low pressure when pilot pressure at pt is mataed higher than that of let pressure at pt set by the pilot sprg. typical use of an unloader valve is to unload the low pressure side of a double pump. Pump connected to an ccumulat circuit can also be unloaded by the VR4U valve. 1 PC VR4U consists of a high flow poppet type seat valve section controlled by the low flow, adjustable pilot section mounted on top. Pressure settg is achieved by means of knurled knob. F tamper proof settg, acn nut with lead seal is available as option. Optional vent valve VVV1 sandwiched between pilot section External Dra and ma body can be used f ventg the VR4U valves. 1 Exceptionally fast response is obtaed due to the precise ratio between the ma piston area and its mass. One of the unique features of VR4U is that it wks as a relief valve at the set pressure even the absence of external pilot signal. Nmally pt is connected to pump and pt to tank. t low pressure, flow enterg pt is blocked by the ma poppet. Pressure from pt passes to the pilot section through ifices 1 (OPTIONL) the ma poppet and the pilot section. No flow takes place this ption until the pressure overcomes the sprg settg of a pilot ball. The pilot ball is lifted from its seat releasg a small pilot flow to tank and resultg a pressure drop across the ma poppet. The ma poppet opens and allows only enough flow from pt to pt matag let pressure at the set value of the pilot sprg as the case of a relief valve. In this condition, the external pilot pressure from another part of system if applied at pt causes a small override piston to act agast the ball pushg it further off its seat resultg very low pressure drop across the ma poppet as long as pilot pressure is mataed, the ma poppet opens further and unloads the let VR4U flow at very low pressure drop. s soon as the pilot pressure drops to approximately 1% below the pilot settg, the ma poppet closes with a snap action divertg the ma pump flow back to the hydraulic system. Excessive restriction the tank le the pilot pressure signal at pt should be avoided to atta a crect function.
