1 City of Lewiston Finance Department Allen Ward, Purchasing Agent Compact Sidewalk Sweeper December 21, 2017 Sir/Madam: Sealed Proposals will be received in the office of the Purchasing Agent, City Hall, 27 Pine Street, Lewiston, Maine on Tuesday January 9, 2018 until 2:00 p.m. from parties interested in providing a proposal for a Compact Sidewalk Sweeper for the City of Lewiston Public Works Department. The Finance Committee reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals. Please use sealed and clearly marked envelope with the bid name and number when submitting your bid. 2 DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS One (1) Compact Sidewalk Sweeper Bid #: SPECIFICATIONS Specification for One (1) Compact Side Walk Sweeper for the public works Department. The desired equipment will be used be the Public Works Department for sweeping streets and parking lots. The following specifications should be considered minimum requirements and the bid shall be of the Manufacture s latest model and design. The bid item must comply with applicable Federal and Maine laws. All items appearing in the bidders regular published specifications are assumed to be included in the bidder s proposal. The City of Lewiston reserves the right to reject all bids when deemed in the best interest of the City, and waive any minor discrepancy or technicality in the bid specifications. The Finance Committee reserves the right to waive any formality and may consider as informal any Proposal not prepared and submitted in accordance with these provisions. The Finance Committee reserves the right to accept any Proposal or reject any or all Proposals if it is deemed to be in the public interest to do so. Any exceptions to the bid must be clearly spelled out and attached to your bid proposal. REQUIREMENTS One (1) Compact Side Walk Sweeper, with single engine and dual gutter brooms. Johnston C201 or approved equal. The successful bidder shall provide a machine for testing prior to bid being awarded. Any differences in the demo unit must be identified at time of demonstration or machine shall be assumed to be equal to the final unit delivered to the city. The successful bidder shall furnish a complete, job ready machine and it shall conform in strength, quality and workmanship to what is provided in general by the sweeper manufacturing industry. Specifications and ratings must conform to all S.A.E. Standards.
