Our drawbeam programme, CMS, provides patented solutions, adapted to the vehicle, for all types of trailer. We have drawbeams for both external and internal mounting, drawbeams for central mounting on the truck chassis or alternatively underslung installations using our endplate kits. We also have a complete range of underride protection, protective beams and fittings. Different solutions for different needs. The system makes superstructure work easy and cost effective, allowing for several alternatives. VBG S UNIQUE COUPLING SYSTEM The strength of VBG s coupling system is that all the parts work together in a robust and well thought-out system, where each component has been optimised for maximum safety and performance. The system s couplings, beams, end plates, drawbars and other accessories guarantee installation alternatives for all types of truck. This is our model for creating the most reliable coupling system in the sector. The operator must be able to feel secure with a VBG coupling system behind him. RESPONSIBILITY CALCULATION AND FEM ANALYSIS During the design and development work for our drawbeams, just as with other VBG products, extensive testing and FEM analyses are carried out. FEM (Finite Element Method) is an effective method for performing advanced, reliable strength calculations in a computer environment. SAFETY CERTIFICATE AND WHOLE VEHICLE APPROVAL All of our products have long been EU approved. They are now also approved according to ECE requirements, which apply to 56 ECE member countries within and outside of the EU. This will become a requirement as from We also supply them pre-installed for whole vehicle approval. INNOVATION SURFACE TREATMENT VBG s unique corrosion protection with zinc-manganese phosphating, ED dipping and a high-gloss powder coating gives our products the best corrosion protection on the market, an extra long service life and a low total cost. We deliver the drawbeams fully corrosion protected and ready for mounting. Not many others do this.

4 CMS IS NOW BECOMING EVEN MORE FLEXIBLE. We are now making CMS even more fl exible, extending the programme with a new drawbeam adapted to the vehicle the DB C7. This drawbeam is intended for central and semi-underslung installation, and is replacing the DB 75V. For underslung installation, the DB 75V-2 is being introduced, which requires less space and offers considerable fl exibility. The DB 75V-2 allows alternative positioning lengthwise along the chassis, and all the positions in the truck chassis can be used. Our large range of endplate kits, EDH, EDM and EDL, as well as customerspecific solutions for underslung installation, mean that you can always find cost-effective, safe solutions. DB C7 ADAPTED TO THE VEHICLE FOR CENTRAL AND SEMI UNDERSLUNG INSTALLATION The DB C7 drawbeam is always delivered with the holes already drilled according to the relevant truck manufacturer s recommendations and requirements. This entails time savings and reduced costs for you. Type approval no. E24*55R THREE INSTALLATION HEIGHTS The DB C7 drawbeam can be installed at three different heights, where all the positions in the truck chassis can be used: two positions for central installation and one for semi-underslung installation. This provides you with greater fl exibility and makes the work on the superstructure smooth, fast and cost-effective.

5 CMS 63V WITH BOLTED/RIVETED DESIGN A drawbeam system that is adapted to the vehicle, close-fi tting and with a bolted/riveted design that makes it easy to mount on the chassis. The drawbeam is delivered fully mounted. This beam is also available adapted and equipped with mountings for one of VBG s underride protection solutions. Type approval no. E24*55R CMS DBI FOR INTERNAL INSTALLATION A drawbeam system that provides a coupling position close to the truck s rear axle, the perfect solution when a further forward, low mounted coupling is required. This solution shortens the distance between the truck and trailer. The mainly bolted, minimally welded construction provides a dynamic, fl exible, close-fi tting arrangement, which greatly simplifi es mounting. Using spacers, this beam can be adapted to just about all the models. Type approval no. E24*55R CMS TRAILER FOR HEAVY TRAILERS AND ROADTRAINS The system consists of alternative cross members, end plates and spacers that are mounted together using bolted joints for different combinations to adjust to the trailer s frame width and provide the intended coupling height. It is complemented with drawbeam DB 75V-2. The CMS Trailer beam is available as a kit for self mounting or fully mounted. It is available in four lengths: 980, 1100, 1200 and 1300 mm*. E24*55R DB75V 2 A NEW GENERATION A drawbeam that requires less space and therefore allows alternative positioning lengthwise when mounting with endplate kits for underslung installation. ENDPLATE KITS The CMS programme consists of alternative end plates and spacers that are mounted together using bolted joints to achieve different combinations, in order to be adapted to the trailer and provide the required coupling height. Bolted modules are available as either a 4-pack or a 10-pack, with M14 and M16 bolts.

6 UNDERRIDE PROTECTION THAT SATISFIES ALL THE REQUIREMENTS FOR WHOLE VEHICLE APPROVAL. VBG has a complete range of tested and certifi ed underride protection for trucks and trailers. The system of protective beams and endplate kits is adapted to most vehicles types, frame widths and installation requirements. All the units are carefully tested and comply with all international dimension and strength requirements according to ECE R58 revision 2. ALUMINIUM AND STEEL PROTECTIVE BEAMS The protective beams are available in three different profi les and two materials. The aluminium beams are anodised and prepared with attachments for mud fl aps, and are also available in a variant with mounted refl ectors for tractor units. As standard, the steel beams are supplied with a surface coating produced from a zinc-manganese phosphating process, and a topcoat with a high fi nish and fi rst-rate resistance to corrosion. 7 SLIDING UNDERRIDE PROTECTION URSP VBG s sliding underride protection makes it convenient and simple to position the protective beam into the required driving position. There are two operation alternatives: manual and hydraulic. Hydraulic operation will be replaced with an electrically controlled actuator during FOUR INSTALLATION ALTERNATIVES We have four different installation alternatives for the various protective beams fi xed, removable, folding and sliding installation. All of these alternatives can be installed directly on the truck chassis or on our end plates for underslung drawbeams. Fixed installation: Endplate kit EUP Sliding installation: Endplate kit UPSO Removable installation: Endplate kit EUR-4 Folding installation: Endplate kit EUF-2 CHANGING THE POSITION OF YOUR PROTECTIVE BEAM VBG has two different alternatives for attaching underride protection that allow the protective beam to be moved backwards. The UPS attachment makes it possible to move in steps of 50 mm, up to max. 300 mm. The UPSO endplate kit may be mounted directly to the truck frame and also to all end plates for underslung DB drawbeams. The UPSO endplate kit allows lengthwise movement of up to 450 mm.
