2 NEW POSSIBILITIES AHEAD What is the ECWVTA? Since April 2009 the European Union has been introducing new legislation that will create a single market by ensuring common vehicle standards. Now the time has come to include larger goods vehicles. By the end of 2014, larger vehicles must be type approved before sale, registration and entry into service in all member states in the EU. No approval no sale! There will be several separate alternative types of approval for manufacturers operating nationally. NATIONAL SMALL SERIES TYPES APPROVAL INDIVIDUAL VEHICLE APPROVAL
