The goal was to enhance chemical labeling recognition as well as providing secondary chemical containment and address seismic constraint considerations. All aspects of the project have been addressed. A major component of the safety program is hazard recognition regarding fall protection. Recently, upgrades were put in place at a sampling/access hatch at Finisterra Pump Station. The Safety Department worked in conjunction with engineering and station maintenance to install a new access hatch as well as a fall restraint system.
8 The Safety Department provided on the job training as well as guidance throughout the carbon media material replacement at the CWRP. Considerations throughout the project were fall protection, rigging, confined space entry, and respiratory protection. Each component is a separate program requiring various skill sets.
