The pressure actuated venting is done thru the 10 fill. The pressure relief is set to open at 3 PSIG and be fully open a 5 PSIG with a rating of 180,000 SCFH of free air. 40 Vents DOT The advanced design in emergency venting for the 412 Series trailers. The #2186 exceeds the DOT HM183 vent requirements for 9/1/96 and 8/31/98. This vent has a zero release of product during an overturn, and is suitable for low pressure / vacuum applications. Full open settings are 7.5 psi for pressure and 1.0 psi vacuum. Designed for corrosion resistance to various chemicals, the #2186 uses Hastalloy springs & rods, Viton seals and corrosion resistant body material. 59 pre-production test report test conducted drop test: Test Fixture designed to Australian Standards. On April 10, 1992 performed test on newly designed relief vent that will meet the Department of Transportation regulations for an overturn of a cargo tank. The requirements stated in 49 CFR are as follows: As of August 31, 1995 no more than 1 liter of product is allowed to be released on 30 PSIG above the Design set pressure for 60 milliseconds for 400 Series Tanker, August 31, 1998 for MC 300 Series Tankers. The test was conducted in accordance with TTMA procedure RP as required by 49 CFR The test was performed three consecutive times and no leakage was observed or detected from the vent on any of the tests.
