Info exchange Porsche Club Kirchen-Hausen e.v/porsche Club Deutschland Porsche Cayenne in Vidiciatico Over the past ten years, the Porsche Club Kirchen-Hausen has been able to celebrate six of its well-known Porsche meetings in Vidiciatico. The beautiful scenery, the enthusiastic people and the famous cuisine have made every one of those meetings a roaring success. So what could be better than organising a meeting especially for the Porsche Cayenne in this fabulous mountain region? The National Park is rich in forests and has countless roadways, some of them ancient. It was made for the Cayenne. Crossing bridges from Roman times, we will be driving through endless forests to an altitude of almost 2,000 metres. Beautiful views alternate with cosy shaded spots and natural refugios invite you to stop for a while. In small groups, we will be driving along roads that will provide exciting and enjoyable driving, without damaging our precious Cayennes. If you want to come and enjoy all this, the event begins on Thursday 27th May. It ends with the presentation ceremony on 31st May, Whit Monday. The price for a Porsche Cayenne and two people is 1,400. Euro for Porsche Club members. This includes accommodation, full board, welcome drinks and snacks, all drinks with meals, aperitifs and formal dinner, prizes and trophies for every participant, fireworks, trial and tours, all entrance fees and, of course, a special gift for our guests: a genuine, brand new Saeco espresso machine and other surprises. Here are the highlights of the programme (subject to change): Thursday 27th May 2004 Arrival, introduction to the Albergo and welcome evening. Friday 28th May 2004 Drive in Cayenne to Gaggio Montana and visit to Saeco factory; drive to Cavone on the Lago Scafaiolo; summer party at swimming pool in Vidiciatico with Italian buffet, fireworks over the Conca del Sole. Saturday and Sunday, 29th to 30th May 2004 Guided tours in small groups. Various tours in the national park and the beautiful villages of the Comune Lizzano. Stops en route for rustic food, snacks and refreshments. We will visit the Madonna del Acero pilgrimage church, the fortified mountain village of the Counts of Monteacuto, the old sawmill Sega-Vecchia, the refugio in Cavone and on the Monte Pizzo, the visitor centre in La Ca, a dairy in Querciola (source of the famous Parmigiano Reggiano cheese) to name just a few of the stops. Off-road trial in Cavone, including axle stiffening sections, steep descents and a seesaw. The event is open to all members of any Porsche Club officially recognised by Porsche AG. 2. The event is limited to a maximum of 300 vehicles. Porsches of all types and years are permitted. 3. The price for the event for two people and one vehicle, including accommodation in a double room and breakfast, is 1,650. Euro. For one person, with accommodation in a single room, the price is 1,200. Euro. 4. Bookings will be processed in the order they are received. As soon as the organisers receive notification from the bank that a deposit of 400 Euro has been paid, the participant will receive a booking confirmation and a participant number. 3 bookings is 19th March 2004, and no bookings will be accepted after that date. 5. Accounts can only be settled by bank transfer to account at the Banc de Sabadell. Any bank charges are to be paid by the participant. 6. The deposit is non-refundable if a participant accepts and then cancels the booking. Refunds will only be made if the parade does not take place or the booking cannot be accepted. 7. The driver/owner of the vehicle shall confirm the following: They are in possession of a driving licence valid in Spain, and insurance for the vehicle and its occupants The vehicle meets Spanish traffic regulations They will observe Spanish road traffic laws. Participation in the event is at the participant s own risk. Every participant shall be responsible for the safety of the car and its occupants during all activities and journeys. Every participant will bear full liability for any damage caused by him or his vehicle under civil or criminal law. Failure or refusal to agree to this condition shall result in exclusion from the event. 9. The organisers will make every effort to run the Parade in accordance with the published programme. 5 Porsche und Bose Porsche and Bose a successful partnership For forty years, the Bose Corporation, a leading manufacturer of quality speakers, has been captivating people with their innovative sound solutions. From Madison Square Garden to the Sistine Chapel, Bose sound systems are found all over the world. Even the organisers of the Olympic Games rely on Bose technology. The aim of the innovative company is to achieve natural reproduction of the live music sound on audio systems. The 901 Direct/Reflecting speaker developed by the company s founder Dr. Amar G. Bose and launched in 1968 is perhaps the best example. The revolutionary box set the standards for concert hall quality sound reproduction. At the beginning of the 1980s, Bose was the first company to revolutionise the market for in-car audio systems. The hi-fi specialist has since developed sound systems for many leading car manufacturers, always optimally tailored to the acoustic conditions inside the vehicle. The Bose specialists always work closely with the manufac- turer concerned. Bose has become synonymous with tailored sound systems in the automotive sector. This extremely successful partnership between Porsche and Bose is bearing new fruit. In close co-operation with Porsche engineers, the world famous hi-fi specialist, which is involved in the early development phase of new Porsche models, has designed a superlative surround sound system for the Cayenne an innovation, as this technology has never been used in an off-roader to date. The powerful Turbo version of the Cayenne is factory fitted with the Bose Surround Sound System. The system is the result of extensive detailed engineering, and is specially tailored to the interior acoustics of the Cayenne, offering excellent true to life concert hall sound. This is because, unlike a normal car radio, the sound does not just come from the left and right, it comes from all sides. This takes the listener right to the heart of the realistic sounding music. Integrating this fascinating 3D world of sound into the refined surroundings of a Porsche involved sophisticated technology. The distributing centre for the modern surround sound system is an electronic amplifier, which uses the Centerpoint and SurroundStage signal processing technologies developed by Bose s own engineers. The latter directs the multi-channel information accurately to the speakers, so that each passenger can hear balanced surround sound. The other highlight of the system is that the Centerpoint signal processing technology can generate surround sound even from normal stereo recordings. This means that CDs provide listening pleasure that is normally only possible with expensive home hi-fi systems. The 13 high performance speakers with a total output of 250 watts and a 100-watt subwoofer effectively convert the signals they receive. Bose and Porsche engineers have positioned the resonant speakers in the interior of the SUV based on comprehensive acoustic measurements. A system specialist can invest 250 hours just in the complicated task of co-ordinating the various components, said Michael Fabry, Chief Engineer in the Acoustics division at Bose. The light and compact speakers are installed in the instrument panel, the doors, the rear roof columns and the spare wheel well (see diagram). 6 achieve crystal clear pitch and a crisp bass sound. The sound system, which was recently rated as Highly recommended by the German specialist magazine auto motor und sport, has another special feature the bass sounds respond to changes in volume as if by magic. As the level reduces, the dynamic loudness function of the surround sound system sensitively raises the bass, to compensate for the lower sensitivity of the human ear. This means that the listener never loses the live character of the music. It is also unaffected by interference noise, such as an open window or heavy rain. The driver and passengers hardly notice these adjustments in the background, they simply experience pure music. In the Cayenne, the powerful sound of the engine and the brilliant music reproduction of the Bose Surround Sound System are fused into a new dimension in driving pleasure. Like an undercover agent, the hidden noise compensation microphone detects all sounds in the interior of the vehicle and accurately differentiates between music and noise sources. The latter are uncovered and effectively compensated for by gently raising the musical elements. 13
