4 TECEflex product description TECEflex composite pipe Can be used universally for potable water, heating and compressed air installations and now for gas installations as well The revised German Technical Rules for Gas Installations (TRGI) came into force in April As from this point in time the TECEflex system can also be used for indoor gas installations. The composite pipe suitable for gas installations is dyed in yellow. All brass fittings may be used for gas installations; PPSU fittings may not be used! The TECEflex composite pipe combines the ideal properties of metal and plastic pipes. It fulfils the requirements for potable water, heating and compressed air installations. The yellow composite pipe fulfils the requirements of TRGI 2008 for indoor gas installation up to 100 mbar for gases of the second gas family (natural gas). TECEflex composite pipe can easily be bent by hand, yet retains its shape and is rigid. Its high fatigue strength is ensured by the special construction with an especially strong inside pipe made of PE-Xc, which is encased by a butt-welded diffusion-tight aluminium tube. The seal action is achieved solely through the composite pipe s memory effect. When the TECEflex composite pipe is expanded, a large crosssection is retained inside the TECEflex fittings. This means that flow speeds and pressure drops remain low. 6 TECEflex composite pipe TECEflex composite pipe TECEflex composite pipe The TECEflex composite pipe is equally suited for potable water and radiator installations as well as for the installation of compressed air systems. There are no limits on the use of this pipe in multi-floor applications and between apartments, as well as in basements, risers and surface-mounted areas, or in radiator connections from the skirting board. The TECEflex composite pipe is an universal pipe that combines the best properties of both metal and plastic pipes. The water-bearing inner pipe consists of a PE-Xc basic standard pipe. This permits high pressure, temperature and corrosion resistance. The additional butt-welded aluminium sheathing serves both as a diffusion block and to reduce longitudinal deformation caused by heat. The TECEflex composite pipe is particularly easy to bend by hand, yet retains its rigidity. The outer white layer means that there are no problems in installing it in visible locations, e.g. to connect radiators. Yellow pipes have to be used for gas installations exclusively! Besides a wide range of international certificates, the TECEflex composite pipe also has DVGW registration for potable water applications and DIN CERTCO registration for heating areas. The suitability as a compressed air pipe has been established by the test mark of the German Technical Inspectorate TÜV. The yellow composite pipe has been approved for indoor gas installations in keeping with TRGI 2007 up to 100 mbar for gases of the second gas family (natural gas, no liquefied gas) - German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water [DVGW]. The patented TECEflex pressure sleeve technology permits connections without the use of O-rings while allowing a larger inner diameter. The same fittings are used for the TECEflex composite pipe and TECEflex PE-Xc pipes. 8 TECEflex five-layer pipe PE-Xc TECEflex PE-Xc five-layer pipe TECEflex five-layer pipe PE-Xc TECEflex electronic beam cross-linked installation pipes extremely resistant on account of internal oxygen barrier layer TECEflex five-layer all-plastic pipes have been fitted with an internal diffusion block. It is therefore ideally protected against adverse construction site conditions. On account of the position of the oxygen barrier layer in the middle of the pipe wall, TECEflex five-layer pipes are insensitive to external humidity, such as condensation water. The silver-coloured PE-Xc five-layer pipes are real universal pipes, which are suitable for potable water, heating and compressed air installations. The mother-of-pearl coloured PE-MDXc five-layer pipe is a pure heating pipe which has been developed especially for the use in floor heating. It can be used up to 90 Celsius, and thus can also be used for connection to radiators. PE-Xc pipes have enjoyed over 25 years of use in housing technology applications. They stand out in particular on account of their high pressure, temperature and corrosion resistance. 28 TECEflex gas installation TECEflex gas installation Since the revised TRGI 2008 has come into force, the TECEflex system for domestic gas installations in Germany can be used up to a pressure of 100 mbar. The approval applies for gases of the second gas family in keeping with DVGW Work Sheet G260 (natural gas, no liquefied gas). The specifications in DVGW Worksheet G600 and TRGI 2008 apply for installation. For correct installation, the regional building regulations and fire protection regulations must be observed. The national regulations, standards and worksheets as well as the accident prevention regulations and the recognized engineering rules also apply. The technical specification of TECEflex system shall have to be observed.
