A work s replica fork, it s lightweight and highly rigid aiding superior riding stability. The new fork offers excellent shock absorption performance at high speeds making it easier for racers to ride faster for longer. Because main springs are not used, changing the fork character is much simpler and quicker than changing the spring rate on a standard fork.

8 THE POWER FOR THE GLORY To lead the field in motocross you need an engine capable of delivering optimum power right across the rev range. Rapid throttle response from the battery-less fuel injection system instantly offers more bhp and torque than before especially in the crucial low-end and mid-range for traction and drive and there s more power at the top too for extra competitive edge. A short-skirt bridged-box bottom piston and wedge-shaped crank web with a 60 per cent balance factor are straight from the factory bikes. A high balance factor means less vibration, smoother delivery and snappier performance, particularly at the critical bottom-end. For 2016, refinements to the intake system, a quieter exhaust system, an offset cylinder, a new accessory KX FI Calibration Kit with no need for a PC, and an all-up weight saving of 2kg in the engine components make this the best production KX450F engine yet. LIGHTER, SLIMMER, STIFFER By designing a narrower frame for the KX450F, Kawasaki s engineers made it easier for you to position yourself where you need to be on the bike in the constantly changing terrain of an MX event. The downtube now uses a combination of forged and cast production techniques plus revised steering and brace tubes for greater front-end rigidity and feel. Top and bottom shock mounts have also been redesigned contributing to a 400g weight saving in the frame. The swingarm has also been reworked saving a further 220g. Centre of gravity and geometry have all been tailored with forward drive in mind. 14 Soft Standard Hard TUNING MADE EASY There has never been an easier way to adjust engine settings to suit track conditions and riding style. The ECU contains three maps as well as a launch control mode. The three programs are quickly and easily switched by plug-and-play selection of the appropriate KX DFI coupler; soft, standard or hard. The plug is next to the head pipe for quick, easy changes between sessions and races. The maps can be further refined with the accessory KX FI Calibration Kit.

11 LAUNCH CONTROL The KX250F features a launch control system similar to that on KRT factory race bikes. With the simple press of a button, riders can activate a separate engine map designed to ensure efficient race starts in slippery conditions. The Launch Control Mode map retards ignition timing, allowing tyres to gain grip in the lower gears in low-traction situations letting riders fully focus on the race start.
