2 About MK Panels MK Panels is a local manufacturer and provider of marshalling kiosks for electrical substations. These can either be outdoor or indoor applications depending on the customer s requirements. The black owned company based in Carl Street, Pretoria West has been in existence since The company commenced business as an Enterprise Development initiative with Powertech Transformers, a transformer manufacturing company based also in Pretoria West. Powertech Transformers decided to outsource the manufacture of their marshalling kiosks to MK Panels and this arrangement has been very successful over the last 5 years. In 2014, they became a 51% black owned company. MK Panels has been rated as an AAA Level 1 Contributor according to the dti BBBEE scorecard with a procurement recognition of 135% and is a value adding enterprise. 4 Other Products and Special Projects MK Panels were recently accredited as an approved Eskom supplier. Complete assembly and wiring as well as conducting factory testing of all our products is carried out in our manufacturing facility. As well as manufacturing of the marshalling kiosks and enclosures we repair the kiosks for all sizes of transformers, manufacture and testing of switchgear panels, M.C.C. panels, distribution boards and starter panels. Additionally, we supply joints, terminations and testing of medium and high voltage cables. Along with marshalling kiosks, we have manufactured junction boxes on behalf of ESKOM completely wired and fitted. Other projects undertaken have been the manufacture of special supply distribution panels incorporating Star Delta starters, DOL Starters with sequential starting, standard DOL panels and special isolator boxes for mines, distribution panels and remote control boxes for security lighting control gear.
