2 Benchmark of outstanding solutions and best practices for innovative and green urban mobility in Europe, Latin America, China and Singapore. Facilitate the uptake of these solutions across different cities in these regions, and Mediterranean Partner Countries (MPCs). Five topics: Effective mobility management Deployment of clean vehicle solutions Innovative public transport solutions Enabling infrastructure Sustainable city logistics solutions Experience and knowledge are exchanged through showcases, site visits, workshops and dissemination learning materials with the final objective of producing a Virtual Solution Book.

3 The project was started in As a result, the newly designed bus network is organised in 28 vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines (17 vertical, 8 horizontal and 3 diagonal lines) Higher connectivity from one end of the city to the other and only one route per corridor. Shorter waiting times (4-8 mins) and improved links between modes of transport Average distance between stops: 400 m. 90% of journeys can be made with 0-1 transfers. Improvements achieved on the whole network: TMB estimates that 95% of the citizens can today travel to any part of Barcelona by a single transfer and almost half of them can reach any destination in the city in less than 40 minutes.

4 BIPiù service allows the purchase of dematerialized bus and metro tickets via smartphones through mycicero application The App integrates: Single sign-on Multimodal Journey planning Wide selection of payment methods (Credit Cards, PayPal, Sisal, PagOnline, ) Mobile ticketing (purchase of tickets for Trenitalia, Bus, Metro, Coaches, Parking, Tourist packages and other services linked to transportation ) In addition, through mycicero the capital is among the first cities in Italy to have solved the conflict between virtual tickets and physical gates in the Metro stations through QR code and NFC technologies.

Commonly used for tourist purposes and innovative Public Transport mode Integrated into the city's public transport network provide quick and safe transportation for those who live in the neighbourhoods situated on mountainous regions of the city s suburbs. In Rio de Janeiro the line measures 3.5km and includes six stations: Connects the residents of the neighbourhood to the city s rail network Residents can apply for a RioCard, which grants them two free trips per day, thus they can access the same jobs and opportunities as those living elsewhere within the city. The solution was founded as part of the Brazilian infrastructure development plan known as the Growth Acceleration Program.

7 Zaozhuang is one of the first cities in China for planning and implementing BRT systems The longest BRT line in China and have formed a network: 65km of dedicated BRT lanes and includes bus traffic signal prioritisation (133km in total), which has allowed a greater connectivity throughout the city. The system has aided the development of the whole city through greater accessibility for citizens and a more enjoyable and easy to use the system for tourists. Insufficient investment in the planning stages of the project, which has led to many BRT stations not having bicycle/car parking facilities.

9 Best solutions were promoted during the City Mobility Showcases in Europe, Brazil, China and Singapore Integrated network and enabling infrastructure are relevant for most of them Still few solutions addressing the clean vehicle focus area Cooperation between different countries and continents is possible, however several barriers need to be overcome, such as lack of knowledge on priorities in different countries. Due to difference in culture, social demography, political structure and economy in countries of the EU and Latin America, different countries may have different roadmaps and priorities to achieve more sustainable urban mobility. Lack of standardization and interoperability: may help better planning and reduce costs of investments and make up to chronic infrastructure deficit.
