14 Integrate DER through active demand: on/off peak tariffs Traditional off-peak hours OFF ON In France, off-peak hours time are decided by the DSO Residential clients can choose either a base tariff or a on/off peak tariff 8 off-peak hours are offered: 22:00-6:00 or 22:30-6:30 for example In 2014: 15,10 c /kwh peak vs. 10,44 c /kwh off-peak Every day, for 21 clients during summer 2013 OFF New off-peak hours: a four-hour block substitution ON OFF ON OFF ON First off peak four hours in the night are replaced by the 12:00 PM 4:00 PM block For 14 clients, new start of electrical boiler at 12 PM
15 Energy consumption shifting Conclusion and perspectives Solar off-peak hours and battery impacts In Watts for an average residential client in :00 02:00 04:00 06:00 08:00 10:00 12:00 14:00 16:00 18:00 20:00 22:00 Solar off peak hours impact seems to be too important between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM and not sufficient during the remaining block Shifting solar offpeak hours as well as starting electrical boilers at different time seems to be relevant Battery block Solar off-peak hours average impact on consumption in 2013 Average PV generation on 41 producer in In 2014, NICE GRID will combine this with residential batteries, charging from 2:00 PM Source: ERDF, EDF R&D
