Outline Progress last week Outcome of Change Control Board meeting Lookout next 4 weeks Hot topics

Weeks: 7 down, 20 to go Progress Wed Jun 22 - Wed June 29 Highlights: Decision to rework Arc 7 9 in the East Arc Prep work started Task force on micro phonics (Hogan). Data analysis (Reece) and possible remedies (Wiseman) Installation, rework, and alignment continued for WA magnets Arc 10 installation RFinstallation ongoing C100 warm for leak location and repair FEL gun work continuing. Wiggler not fixed in time for summer run (IR) Demo and preparation (filter) for piping work in Test Lab started

CCB Report - 1 The following 6MSD CRs & NTFs have been submitted, reviewed, and approved. None submitted for review Change Requests/Notes to File in the Pipeline: Hall C Current Cavities (CR) Hall C Current Cavities work by engineering division include four independent electronics (design, fabrication, installation, and testing). One additional current cavity is needed for the Hall C line and Physics is coordinating/planning this work. More details to come mid July once engineering preliminary testing and scope refinements are complete. FML Stair Repair at the FEL Block removal for egress (CR/NTF) FML's current plan in the schedule is to repair the FEL stairs. Additional work to remove some of the blocks at the GTS roll up door to provide an egress during the repair work. Block removal and crane rental is done by MSINST group. 12GeV Logic MO System (NTF) Once South Linac Header work (additional taps for MO system) is coordinated with contractor this week/next week (12GeV Civil), then dates for installation and logic ties to pressure testing, MO system manifold installation can be added. Installation of R100 and Admiral Decision on Location and installation/commissioning activities (CR) F. Pilat is organizing a team to plan if and where to install the 2 cryomodules, and their use in operations. That needs to be coordinated and integrated with the overall plan for installation, testing and possible operations of the C100's.

CCB Report - 2 Change Requests/Notes to File Upcoming/Placeholders: System Testing/Hot Checkout/Restart Operations Plan (CR/NTF) M. Spata is leading the preparation and planning for overall testing, hot checkout and restoration of operations for the 6 GeV run. The plan will be presented and discussed in the second half of August. 12GeV East Arc Trim Cable Pulls (NTF) Installation of the east arc magnet trim cables is currently not in the schedule, but has been approved to be done during this down. Initial plan by engineering group doesn't require outside resources and this change is a placeholder until the plan is developed and the ATLis is submitted for this work. C100 Installation and testing(cr) 12GeV C100 installation and testing plan due to C100 production delays 12GeV Logic Corrections/Clean Up (CR/NTF) General cleanup for schedule pending 24 June 2011 progress collected. Hall C Ion Chamber/Dump Work (CR) Hall C ion chamber and dump work being reviewed by engineering division and accelerator operations for scope. More details to come. Tunnel Penetrations Repair (CR) Captures additional detailed scope for the repair work on defined penetrations. Once repair work scope is defined by A&E (mid July 2011), this CR will be reviewed

4 weeks look ahead Potential decision point to rework Arc 5 (very soon or unlikely to happen) Decision point to install 3 rd C 100 NO Complete removal/rework/installation magnets WA and EA Arc 7 and 9 RFinstallation LCW upgrades Civil work to punch through stub wall, BSY building additions Continue LCW, work on tunnel extension and photon beam pipe Peppo installation Halls Facilities: ACS, repair FEL stairs, etc.

Employee suffered a laceration to right index finger and Occupational Medicine treated the area by cleaning the wound and applying over the counter antibiotic and a band aid. Employee returned to work on regular duty, no restrictions. While carrying a six foot walk board, subcontractor stepped down an 18 inch step and twisted his left ankle. Subcontractor suffered a left ankle sprain, was provided a prescription medication, and assigned work restrictions making this a DART case. Subcontractor was tilting a duct jack upwards when he felt sudden pain in his upper back. Subcontractor suffered a muscle strain of upper back and was treated with over the counter medicine. Subcontractor returned to work on regular duty, no restrictions. 06/20/11 Hall C An employee performing plasma arc cutting was potentially exposed to lead above the OSHA and ACGIH Limit. They were sent for medical monitoring to determine if lead exposure occurred, the work area was secured, and further work was suspended. 06/23/11 North Access Building Subcontractor was pulling cable with another employee when his left hand twisted causing wrist pain. Subcontractor suffered a strain of left wrist, and was treated with over the counter medication and ice pack. Subcontractor returned to work with no restrictions.
