Prefeito Waldemar Grubba, 3000 Vila Lalau Jaraguá do Sul SC - Brazil General product information: The M line range of induction motors (types: MGI, MGF,MGL, MGR, MGW sizes:400, 450, 500, 560, 630, 710, 800, 900, 1000, 1120, 1250 (NEMA equivalent) with a range of 2 to 24 poles, 3 phase winding for 50Hz or 60Hz and up to 13.8kV, material comprised cast iron or fabricated mild steel frames for horizontal or vertical, foot or flange mounting ) is currently certified under IECEx TUR X and has been assessed to IEC : , IEC : The motor can optionally be used as a generator. The motor is built in type of protection Ex px for Zone 1 and 2 or pz for Zone 2.The differences for px and pz are that for pz additional accessories with IECEx Certificate for na can be used. The temperature class depends on the motor values. The motor is equipped with a pressurization system (MiniPurge Control System: MiniPurge Interface Unit, MiniPurge Relief Valve; IECEx SIR X) manufactured by Expo Technologies, with valve that maintains the work's pressure inside the enclosure of the motor to 10 mbar. Terminal boxes can be a part of the purge system or they have their own appropriate certificate. Before the motor start the system perform a complete cycle of cleaning the air inside the compartment (motor, main terminal box and accessories terminal box as applicable) with a minimum 120m3/h during the time that vary from 15 to 60 minutes (it depends on the motor size, the build in parts and the accessories) which represents an exchange of approximately 5 to 10 times of the motor internal volume. In abnormal situations, when the internal pressure falls down to value lower than 5 mbar, the system provide contacts for signalling and alarm (internal pressure below the normal level). In case of failure of the pressurization system, which results in a pressure release of lower than 1.5 mbar, the system provides contacts for signalling the motor switch-off. During the motor start, or after loss of pressurization due to a failure, the system will enable the purge again. The pressurization is performed with clean, dry and oil free air or inert gas with an inlet pressure ranging from 4 to 16 bar. Use of Variable Voltage Variable Frequency Drives The range of M-Line motors can be operated with frequency inverters (variable speed drives) in the following conditions: page 1 / 9

2 - With PWM variable frequency drives, up to V, insulation system F (or H), are able to operate within their insulation class limit, respecting the motor temperature class. - With forced ventilation (independent cooling system) or oversizing, shall be applied in accordance with the application characteristics due on variation of nominal frequency. - safety thermal margin or power de-rating to operate within insulation class limit B. - With variable frequency drives with sinusoidal output signal (equipment able to supply motor voltage and current with negligible harmonic content), or variable frequency drives type PWM fitted with sinusoidal filters in the output. In this condition it is not expected significant additional temperature rise (over than 10K), beyond the normally shown by the motor under sinusoidal supply. - With variable frequency drives that supply motor voltage / current with greater harmonic distortion, may resulting in additional heating over than 10K. This situation is usually to occur with higher power machines and low voltage (<1000V) and the motor should be designed properly. - Oversizing insulation of motors operating with variable frequency drives can be necessary depending on the application characteristics and variable frequency drive. - Use of variable frequency drives that supply PWM voltage with presence of common mode components (zero sequence) require motor insulation oversizing for voltage higher than 4000V. - Speed x torque curves for motor shall be supplied for application with a variable frequency drives. - Motors shall be fitted with thermal protective devices which shall be connected into the motor control circuit in order to maintain the T3 or T4 temperature class. Auxiliaries The auxiliaries which may be fitted to this range of machine are:- Vibration monitoring sensors. Winding and bearing temperature detectors comprising RTD's, thermocouples, thermistors or thermostats. Refer to the general remarks for further details. Anti-condensation heaters. Note: In the situation where T4 motors are fitted with IECEx/ATEX equipment certified T4 anti-condensation heaters the overall motor temperature class marking can be T4. Any relevant specific conditions of use relating to the use of the heaters as part of the motor must be complied with. Ambient temperatures page 2 / 9

3 The standard temperature range of the motors is -20 C to +40 C, by the choice of suitable materials, accessories, equipment and use of the de-rating data, an ambient range of -50 C to +55 C may be achieved. Individual motors must be marked according to the build of the unit. Ingress protection rating (according to manufacture statement) The motor have a minimum ingress protection of IP55, which can be increased up to a maximum IP66 depending on the specific arrangement of the motor shaft seal. The type PSE terminal boxes are certified for Zone 1 use which is a higher degree of protection then is required for the Zone 2 application of the equipment and in line with the Zone 1 application. These terminal boxes have been assessed to IEC :2007 Ed.5 / EN :2009. The type EIE and ETE terminal boxes are certified for Zone 1 use only which is a higher degree of protection then is required for the Zone 2 application of the equipment. These terminal boxes have been assessed to EN :2009 and EN :2007. EN :2009 is technically identical to the IEC :2007 standard being used on this report. At the time of the certification SIRA were part of the IECEx scheme. Due to the direct comparison which is possible between the EN and IEC standards a copy of the certification report and relating drawings were not required to assess their suitability. The manufacturer of this equipment will have a QAN (Quality Assurance Notification) which covers the relevant QA aspects of this assessment. The type EIE and ETE terminal boxes can only be used for Zone 2 applications. The type PSN terminal boxes are certified for Zone 2 use which is the same degree of protection that is required for the Zone 2 application of the equipment. These terminal boxes have been assessed to IEC :2007 Ed.5 / EN :2009 and IEC :2010 Ed.4 / EN :2010. The type EIN and ETN terminal boxes are certified for Zone 2 use only, which is the same degree of protection that is required for the Zone 2 application of the equipment. These terminal boxes have been assessed to EN :2009 and EN :2010. At the time of the certification SIRA were part of the IECEx scheme. The certification is in line with the EN standard used for the associated ATEX assessment (Refer to page 12 of this report) and uses protection concepts designed for a higher level of protection then is required for this equipment. The manufacturer will use the component within its service temperature range. No further assessment required. The cable connectors are covered by component certificate ISSeP09ATEX023U, assessed to IEC :2007, IEC :2006 and IEC :2008 and marked Ex e IIC Gc / Ex tb IIIC Db IP6X. No further assessment is required further to that detailed within the report. Copies of all the certificates are held on the technical file associated with IECEx BAS X and IECEx BAS X. When the components are fitted to the motors the complete motor ambient temperature range will be restricted were applicable to ensure that the maximum service temperature range of the individual components are not exceeded. The overall IP rating of the motors will also be restricted to lowest component rating. The components marked with an * above are for use only on the Range of Motors to be certified under the ATEX 94/9/EC directive. page 8 / 9

9 Specific Conditions of Use for Ex Equipment or Schedule of Limitations for Ex Components, if any: 1. The installer must ensure that any equipment certified cable gland and stopping plugs fitted to the terminal box are suitably IECEx/ATEX certified. Any unused cable entries must be fitted with IECEx/ATEX certified stopping plugs. When installed the cable grand or stopping plugs must maintain the marked IP rating of the enclosure. 2. On auxiliary terminals the conductor insulation shall extend to within 1mm of the terminal throat. 3. Motor designed for T4 and variable frequency drives are fitted with stator winding temperature detection devices that must be connected to the motor control circuit. For other stating methods, the connection of the winding temperature detectors is optional. The stator RTDs and thermistors can be connected via a standard industrial controller provided that the controller is located in a non-hazardous area. 4. Anti-condensation heaters shall not be energized when the machine is energized. 5. When auxiliary apparatus is fitted that is not covered by this certificate the installer and/or user, as appropriate, must ensure that it is suitable for the conditions of use and that it does not invalidate this certificate. 6. The special conditions from each accessories that have their own IECEx/ATEX certificate has to be fulfilled. 7. When the machine is being used as an asynchronous generator precautions must be taken for start-up and operation to ensure the requirements of the certification are meet. Refer to the manufacturers Installation, Operation and Maintenance Manual for full details. 8. The manufacturer has to declared each motor according to Zone and temperature class which the motor can be used. 9. The equipment must have a label indicating the direction of rotation. 10. It is the users responsibility to assure that the motors will be installed in accordance with the pertinent standard for "Electric Installations in Explosives Atmospheres" ( IEC ) and to manufacturer s recommendations. page 9 / 9
