2 The industrial firing with the lowest operating costs Hot gas generator 8,5 MW pulverized lignite on a rotary sand dryer. We build gas generators and industrial combustion chambers on the basis of 30 years research and development. The oldest burners are since 1984, in operation, at the customers satisfaction, without repair. The basis is the dicovery of a flow effect, who allows to build even the biggest hot gas generator whitout refractory lining. They are long-lived and complete insensitive against fast temperature changes. From the cold state to full load they require 1 2 minutes. No starting shuttor or chimney. The hole plant is very simple. On this base we are building hot gas generators in 2 standard series as well as combustion chambers in special design for pulverized lignite, fuel oil and gas. 1. hot gas generator open series up to 15 MW, 850 C, whitout flue gas recirculation, whithout refractory 2. hot gas generator with mixing chamber up to 45 MW, 850 C, with flue gas recirculation, whitout refractory 3. combustion chambers in special design up to 300 MW, 1400 C, back pressure up to 6 bar Please ask for our list of references Hot gas generators.

3 1. Hot gas generator Open Series Hot gas generator 14 MW pulverized lignite in an asphalt plant Functioning The main part is a conical combustion chamber of chromium steel. The flame is separated from the chamber wall by a very stable cold air layer. The flame length depends on the fuelair-ratio:

5 Hot gas generator Open Series Model selection type required air-pressure hot gas flow m³ n/h Reading example for m³ n /h can be used: a) Type HO 16 at 120 mm WG b) or Typ HO 12 at 230 mm WG c) or Typ HO 8,5 at 410 mm WG Selection depending on the repuired turn-down of the hot gas flow. Fuels Hot gas temperature - pulverized coal, lignite or biomass - light fuel oil - gas (natural, propane) At every hot gas flow a temperature between 300 C and 850 C can be obtained by controlling the fuel flow. Higher temperatures on request. The hot gas generator has no upper capacity limit, but the repuired air pressure increases with the square of the air flow at a given generator size. So the generator size has to be selected according to the available air pressure. Usually we recommend air pressure not exneeding 500 mm WG.

6 2. Hot gas generator with mixing chamber - operation with flue gas recirculation. - stoichiometric firing, thus saving up to 10 % of the fuel costs. No refractory. 7 Hot gas generator with mixing chamber Flow rates, dimensions The burner is firing a flame jet of m/s downwards into the mixing chamber. Thereby the flame gas become intensely admixed with the recycled gas. The burner works without excess air. Accordingly the flue gas amount is small. You saves thereby: - almost the half of the filter costs, - as far as 10 % of the fuel costs. 8 Hot gas generator with a mixing chamber This is our proven high velocity burner without refractory. Fuels - pulverized lignite - light fuel oil - gas (natural, propane) The capacity rates as shown below are based on soichiometric combustion (air-fuel-ratio = 1,0). Combustion chamber of special design Two lines are well proven: - Combustion chamber with counter chamber - Special designs 3.1 Combustion chamber with counter chamber - hot gas up to 1400 C, with refractory - operation with flue gas recirculation or excess air - very uniform temperature distribution - back pressure up to 6 bar - all liquid and gaseous fuels, including blast furnace gas Functioning An impulse burner and a mixing chamber are arranged in counter flow. The burner blows his flame jet with m/s into the central back flow of the mixing chamber: Hot gas generator 250 kw (light fuel oil) for the stand still inertisation of a coal milling plant.
