It stands to reason that cars such as Type R Integras and Civics, which were considered by Evo Magazine and other respected UK publications as some of the best handling and most involving hot hatches to drive, should also become classics. Modern hot hatches have by comparison lost their purity; chassis today are heavier & engines must comply with the latest emissions standards, which make them more complicated and increasingly less involving to drive fast as drive trains are laiden with electronics which take away control. Older cars can be lighter, purer and offer more fun and few are more involving to drive than the screaming Type R Hondas. Not wanting to be left out in the cold as prices continue to strengthen in Japan & elsewhere, we are investing in the very best Honda Type R's for stock and intend to continue to offer the best spec. examples, so we can continue to be involved with this market & supply cars that won't only hold their value, but continue to appreciate as time goes on, thus offering the best opportunities for our customers. The Integra Type R DC5 is a sport coupe for drivers who want upscale sophistication and the last of the ferocious K20 powered hatchback Integra models, which were produced only for the Japanese market. Note there are minor differences in the tuning & build spec of this engine, when compared to UK model Civics also produced with the same base.the sophistication in this Integra extends from the well-appointed cockpit to the superb driving dynamics. Honda's powerful iv-tec twin-cam 220 bhp engine, beautifully controlled sports suspension & chassis setup, and fourwheel Brembo equipped disc brakes make for a superb yet practical and economic hot hatch. The facelift Integra Type R model, replaced it's older DC5 sibling after 4 years production (The facelift model was sold in Japan only & built from ) & carries updated headlights (HID), 1

2 restyled rear lights & a redesigned front nose and rear bumper. Interior remained unchanged, although all the instrumentation was upgraded to white faced electro luminescent lighting as standard with the re-design of this model. This example is also a very sought after original C Package DC5 Integra Type R - which is equipped with electric mirrors / retract mode, rear wiper and factory fitted rear privacy glass. Considered by those in the know as the No 1. hot hatch available worldwide when introduced and revered for the years it was in production, this is the model that made consistent gains and race wins in the UK BTTC championships between Interestingly the UK produced Civic Type R's (Which were produced from modified Honda Jazz platforms) never gained quite the same following from race & trackday enthusiasts and not least the JDM model carried a more powerful engine, LSD, etc. The Integra also won an array of industry awards whist in production, including being named to Car and Driver's "10 Best" and Ward's "10 Best Engines" lists in The Type R Integra offers the performance that enthusiasts demand for driving satisfaction as well as returning good fuel economy when needed. To deliver a race-bred driving experience, the DC5 is equipped with a K20A 16-valve, DOHC, 2.0- liter, four-cylinder engine producing 220 bhp as standard. Using a high-flow intake manifold and exhaust system The K20A Type R Japanese spec engine features i-vtec "intelligent" valvecontrol system, combining VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) with VTC (Variable Timing Control). The i-vtec system delivered enhanced performance across a broader power band in addition to improved fuel economy and reduced exhaust emissions when compared to the older B18C engine in the DC2. The 2.0-liter K20 engine is also several pounds lighter than the 1.8 from previous Integra Type R.Transmission includes a 6-speed close-ratio manual transmission with double and triple-cone synchronizers for precise, short-throws and positive shift feel. A lightweight forged chrome-molybdenum steel flywheel and Torque induction-type Helical Limited Slip Differential were also factory specified. The K20A engine is the best of the V-Tec K20 range. It is refined and easy to drive low down in the rev range, due to the improved low down torque, characteristic of this engine. Once past 6000 RPM this engine changes note as the V-Tec comes 'on cam', accompanied by a kick in the back acceleration uncommon to naturally aspirated cars. The i-vtec 220 bhp 2.0 engine combined with close ratio 6 speed gearbox & LSD are a superb package & nowadays the unit Honda tuning enthusiasts seek out as units specially imported from Japan when converting older Civics for more power (There are even kits made to fit these to older Civics & other models). Honda being the pioneer of variable valve timing technology - knew better than any other manufacturer how to make an N/A sports engine to entertain yet still be 100% reliable even when covering high mileages. This engine offers ease of driveability, good fuel economy & incredibly strong and intoxicating power when required, all the way to the 8,400RPM red line. 0-62mph took just over 6 2

3 seconds and standard spec gives a top speed of over 140mph. Handling on the DC5 Integra was also class beating in performance. Bending rigidity was improved by 35% and torsional rigidity by 116% compared to the previous DC2 Integra Type-R. Fitted with Brembo 4 piston front brakes as standard, PAS, P/W, AC, HID headlamps, ABS, Dual SRS Air Bags, Leather trimmed Momo steering wheel, Recaro front seats, privacy rear glass, light tint front windows, Factory alloy wheels fitted with 215/45/ZR17" tyres, fitted mats. This is a rare Spec C model with electric mirrors with retract mode, rear wiper and tinted rear windows). The seats were aged and discoloured (Red is a colour that often fades with UV - and Recaros are usually well past their best after 10 years) so we had both front seats professionally restored to new condition by This is Japan's most respected interior retrim specialist, who also complete restoration work on other classic Japanese sportscars we supply from Japan. These original Recaros are now of better condition than original and the (exact red colour) red leather will be a lot better lasting than the original Recaro alcantara which tends to stain, fade & wrinkle over time. Performance Parts to further improve this car are available through but we'd recommend fitting only parts that will enhance the car's desirability rather than detract from it. For example, a Mugen cold air composite air box (If still available) encompassing a K&N oil impregnated air filter, Mugen exhaust and some items to improve the engine bay, such as Mugen Racing oil and radiator cap. Uprated Endless CC-R brake pads will add fade free braking performance - to a level not available from alternative pads sold in Europe, combined with braided hoses to firm brake pedal travel & improve feel. Ashtray & cigar lighter have never been used and there are absolutely no marks of damage or staining from smoking inside. The auction grade of this example is 4B which is the highest grade available for a car of this age (Not that two symbols can describe a car with much accuracy, really). This example came to us in excellent condition but clearly not as perfect as it could be so then we spent over 24 hours detailing every part of it, inclusive of removing grille, battery, etc. to gain access to hard to reach areas. Even the underside of the bonnet was polished 3

4 and sealed. We then did the interior too! All this so we'd not only be able to present it as beautifully & well prepared as possible, but also know this car intimately from top to bottom and provide the new owner with the best possible quality of preparation and be able to describe exactly what he may want to change, or not. Exterior condition is excellent too. We noted there are no stone chips at all, only a couple of stress fractures in the paint on on the rear bumper where it has nudged another car in parking. We consider too minor to repair but if desired this car be repainted as a small additional cost whilst the car is being completed & registered in the UK. Note the headlights are not at all faded, unlike most DC5's - which serves to further confirm this car has been garaged since new. Test Drive: As it's un-registered we only tested this DC5 for around 2km after warming it up. There are no mechanical faults to report with performance. Clutch is fine, with no warping from the brakes. Performance feels VERY strong especially in the V-Tec zone Its certainly not lacking in go! Even with near standard tune performance is strong from the 220 bhp this car gives as standard. Clearly this car's been loved and fastidiously maintained. We ask for detailed information from you, so we can provide an accurate quotation from the beginning. If you are inquiring about a car from stock, steps (2) and (4) are not required. (2). When sourcing to order, our quotation is based on your requirements. As long as your budget is sufficient for the car youre after & the car is likely to be available, we will be prepared to find the car you order, or better. Remember: even if you budget too much, it doesnt matter. We operate a system of supplying the best car we can find, plus a set fee of 900. If we can buy your car for a low price, then you make the corresponding saving. (3). When you are ready to proceed, we ask for a deposit (& completed order form, if applicable). The deposit is usually 1,000. If you want a car worth over 10K OTR, then the deposit is 1,500. The deposit is fully refundable without question, should you for any reason need to cancel before a car is bought on your behalf. If you are reserving a car from stock the deposit is refundable less costs and time incurred provided you cancel 4 working days before shipment from Japan. (4). Miguel, our buyer keeps you informed via periodically whilst searching for your car. Sometimes it can take weeks, even months to find the right car. In addition to Miguel attending the major Tokyo auctions daily, we have buyers searching daily throughout Japan for the car you want. No news simply means we havent found it yet. We dont buy the first car which comes along. It must meet or exceed your requirements whilst not costing more than the OTR price we agreed, though it frequently costs less. (5). As soon as available, we will you up to 30 detailed photographs, showing all aspects of your car. We also include a detailed description. Of course, total OTR price is known at this stage, so we let you know. Cars are insured from the time theyre bought, to the time they are completed & collected by you in UK. (6). Usually, boats are available every 2-3 weeks, from Japan to UK (Southampton). We arrange for your car to be shipped on the first vessel available. Around the time the car is shipped, we ask for the second instalment. Typically this is approximately 36

37 60% of the cars OTR total cost. Note that the car we supply to you is fully insured at all times prior to you collecting it. (7) We arrange booking of the SVA test in advance - shortly after the car departs, so that the car can be tested as soon as possible upon arrival to UK. We also inform our UK agent of your full contact details and information on everything which needs doing, to make sure the car wil be presented in beautiful condition. (8). Shipping takes 5 weeks. Around 2 weeks before arrival, we ask you for the final instalment, to cover Import duties, VAT, shipping, UK conversions, testing, registraton etc. (9). Before the car arrives, we arrange customs clearance, etc. so the car neednt spend un-necessary time waiting at the docks upon arrival. It usually takes 3-4 days for cars to be unloaded and cleared by UK customs. (10). The car is sent from Southampton to our UK agents premises in Canterbury aboard a car transporter. Upon arrival there, it is SVA converted, derestricted, SVA tested & MOTd (If applicable). All minor cosmetic work required (e.g. bumper scratches) is carried out. The car is fully valetted just before you collect it. (11). The car comes with 6 months road tax and is fully registered in your name as the first UK keeper. If you have a suitable private number plate youd like to go on the car, we can also arrange this, provided you have a DVLA retention certificate. N.B.
