These materials include:- o o Nitrile 70 Duro (N7) best combination of oil resistance and physical properties for hydraulics, cold water applications Nitrile 90 Duro (N9) harder than N7, better for fittings and high extrusion risk application o Black Viton 75 Duro (V7) FKM. High temperature, wide range (not universal) chemical resistance, fuel, diesel and thinners resistant o o o o o Black Viton 90 Duro (V9) harder than V7, better for fittings and high extrusion risk applications Brown Viton 75 Duro (VB) FPM. High temperature, wide range (not universal) chemical resistance, fuel, diesel and thinners resistant. EPDM 80 Duro (E8) Ethylene Propylene. Brake fluid resistant, excellent for hot water and steam to 130 C Neoprene 70 Duro (C7) Chloroprene. Used with older refrigerants and with Ammonia. Excellent ozone and weather resistance. Silicone 70 Duro (S7) MVQ. Usually rust colored. Normally food grade. Low tear and abrasion resistance, low tensile strength. Excellent temperature range to C. Excellent ozone and weather resistance. o Fluorosilicone 70 Duro (F7) Sky blue in color. Excellent cryogenic properties to +177 C. Current requirement for fuel pumps and aviation fuel under many Standards o Polyurethane 90 Duro (P9) Excellent wear resistance and tensile strength, low flexibility. Often used in portapower and similar high pressure applications, or as gland cap O-Rings. o HNBR (HN7) Hydrogenated Nitrile. Used in R134a refrigerant. Oil resistant and can be used in hydraulic systems to 150 C. o Solid PTFE (TF) Poor elastic properties but almost universal chemical compatibility and temperature range from -200 to +260 C. Used where friction is a major concern. Commonly seen in valve seats. o Teflon Encapsulated (FEP, FEP-S7) These have a Viton or Silicone core encapsulated in a fluorinated Ethylene Propylene copolymer. This reduces the flexibility (while retaining some elasticity), but due to the low permeability of the coating, increases chemical resistance. The coating also greatly reduces the slipstick friction of the O-Ring, making it ideal for use in valves. o Aflas 75 Duro (AF) Excellent chemical compatibility and temperature range(-4 to +232 C) o Kalrez / Perfluoroelastomer This is a separate class of compounds of varying properties some of which include:- resistance to explosive decompression, chemical resistance similar to that of PTFE, and temperature resistance to 305 C. O-Rings in this class need to be quoted on a job by job basis to ensure the correct compound is supplied for the application. All these O-Rings are of the highest quality. Cheaper O-Rings are available in bulk for light duty and water applications, and are supplied under a different part code sequence. We also carry metric O-Rings to suit German DIN and Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS B2401). These are available in N7 and V7 as standard. Some sizes may be available in N9 and S7, particularly in the JIS Range.

Extruded cord is available for all cross sections above 1.6mm as well as many other thicknesses. This can be Vulcanized or hot joined, using a multipart epoxy adhesive which chemically joins the rubber across the join.

Molytec Silicone Lubricant is a hiperformance, translucent paste, which is non-toxic, and has an operating range of - 50 to +200 C. Silicone Lubricant has very good water repellency, is oxidation resistant and has good adherence to dry surfaces. It is resistant to tracking and demonstrates very low volatility. This is an ideal assembly and operating lubricant for all oil resistant seals and O- Rings. Magnalube-G Teflon Based Grease is one of the best operating lubricants available in the marketplace. It constantly deposits a Teflon film on the contact surface surfaces which continually lubricates and protects against corrosion and wear. Magnalube-G is water resistant and will not migrate from hot surfaces. It is serviceable under load conditions to 7000 psi and is both mechanically and chemically stable.
