1 Tour b Andersson AB RADATOR MAN FOLD RADFX HAND CONTROL THERMOSTATC Radifix is a complete valved assembly for fitting on standard radiators. N Connection to the pipe system can be made from the side or underneath by means to the fixed diverters RFS or RFU. H The swivelling diverter called Radiflex simplifies connection to panel mountings. The valve manifold is adaptable for single and twopipe systems and is available for either hand control or therrnostatic control. The diverters have builtin return shutoff, meaning that radiators can be removed without having to drain the system (not applicable for R FU1 and R FS1). N n Singlepipe systems the return shutoff can be used for regulating the desired water flow in the loop. N As standard the radiator connection is R112, but can be obtained with R318 to special order. Manifolds intended for use with twopipe systems have two different hand control valves depending on the indicated heat output of the radiator. See nomogram. N On delivery the thermostatically regulated valve is provided with a plastic protective Cap by rneans of which the valve can be controlled by hand until the thermostat unit is fitted. f there is to be a long period of hand control before fitting of the thermostat unit, handwheel is recommended. 2 TECHNCAL DESCRPTON 7 Application : Max. static pressure: Max. differential pressure: Max. working temperature: Material : Heating installations, 1 or 2pipe systems with pumpcirculation. 5 m WG 50 KPa = 0.5 bar (7.1 lbf/in2) Valve and diverter: Die cast AMETAL@ or hotforged brass. Hand controlled valves Handwheel : Acetal plastic Spindle seal: Oring (can be raplaced if necessary without having to drain the system). Valves for thermostatic control: See RVT service sheet, page 155. Connecting pipes: Steel, polished, zinc coated. Flexible installation: Return shutoff: The valve is supplied with valve unit, diverter, connecting pipe and radiator connections as individual parts, giving best possible flexibility for installation. The divzrters have builtin return shutoff, meaning that radiators can be removed without having to drain the system (not applicable for R FU1 and R FS1). The thermostat head should be removed and the valve unit provided with protective Cap or handwheel for shutoff to the radiator. Presetting : Marking : The hand controlled singlepipe manifolds are always set on delivery so that 50 % of the flow passes to the radiator. Distribution of the flow means that a certain percentage is passed to the radiator or can be reduced if desired. For calculation of flow distribution, see the nomogram. A template with TA scale is used for presetting. To preset do as follows 1. Close the valve 2. Loosen the handwheel screw. 3. Remove the handwheel without turning the valve spindle. 4. Place the template over the valve. Fit on the handwheel so that it registers on the desired presetting value. 6. Tighten up the handwheel screw and open the valve. The diverters are marked on the return shutoff cover as follows: RFU 1 marked Ul RFU 2 marked U2 RFS 1 marked Sl RFS 2 marked S2 The Radiflex twopipe diverter is marked with a "2" on the valve body while the singlepipe diverter has no mark. Surface treatment: Testing: Each valve is individually tested before despatch, both for seat sealing and overall leaktightness. 1 Page 302 Oct 78
