2 The circuit control valves R = 1/2 are equipped with special sockets. They are suitable for connecting to threaded pipe, calibrated soft-steel or copper pipe, the latter two by means of a compression union. Use adapter 6272 between socket and compression union for valves R = 1/2 and external pipe diameters 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 mm as well as for valves R = 3/4 and external pipe diameter 18 mm, compression union and adapter must be ordered separatly. Union Order.No In case of installation of soft steel or copper pipes with compression unions, we recommend the use of support sleeves. For perfect installation of the compression union the thread of the locking nut (male or female thread) as well as the olive must be lubricated with silicone oil. We draw attention to our instructions for installation. Inclined circuit control valves R = 1/2 are suitable for installation with plastic pipes. Adapter and plastic pipe unions are connected to the special sockets. For models and dimensions consult the HERZ catalogue. Flow Directions The valve is suitable for flow in either direction thanks to the pivoting non-removable cone. The flow diagrams are applicable for the flow direction indicated in the drawing. Plastic Pipe Connection Special Design Features Seat Seal The temperature-resistant and permanently elastic soft seal is corrosion-resistant, permits operation with low shutting forces and is approved for a maximum operating temperature of 150 C. Spindle Seal The O-ring seal ensures lasting tightness and ease of valve operation. It is approved for a maximum operating temperature of 150 C. The O-ring nut chamber can be replaced. Order number: Presetting In order to avoid leakage, presetting is performed by limiting the valve lift outside the water chamber. Pre-setting marker The pre-setting marker ( ) is fastened as a tag above the valve or pipe. The setting of the respective valve is marked by cutting or breaking off the teeth at the figures for full and partial turns. This permits checking and/or restoration of the original pre-setting made on the occasion of the system set-up after servicing without having to rely on documentation. For thermal insulations and the avoidance of heat loss it is recommended that thermal insulation shells are used. They consists of two interlocking half shells and the spindle cover. The parts are closed by overlapping and held together by means of tightering straps. The thermal insulation shells can be removed and re-used at any time. (e. g. pre-setting at a later date) Thermal insulation shells can be used up to a maximum temperature of 120 C.
