TA ydronics Pressal designs, using special light metal alloys, combine easy handling and low weight with good strength. Special heat treatment and anodising ensure that all Pressal products have good corrosion resistance. 2

4 FOGFIGTER FOGFIGTER is a spray nozzle with excellent extinguishing characteristics. The spray pattern can be steplessly varied by handgrip action from a closed jet to a protective jet, with the right droplet size for every situation. Water flow rate can be quickly varied between closed and the 100 litre and 300 litre rates. Technical description Materials: Vital parts are made of chrome/nickel-treated AMETA. Spindles, springs, covering rings, balls and screws are of stainless steel. Buffers, O-rings and seals are of chloroprene rubber. The toothed ring and the shut-off ball are of acetal plastic. Spray form control is of Super Tough nylon. The slider ring is of Teflon. AMETA is the dezincification resistant alloy of TA ydronics. Surface treatment: ight-alloy parts anodised. The housing and control handle are also Rilsan -treated. Maximum working pressure: 200 mwg = 20 bar. Function Nozzle section The water flow rate changes only insignificantly when changing between different spray forms. alf a turn of the spray forms control provides the following functions: - concentrated jet - spread jet - fog - protective water curtain - flushing The spray form control has the following marked positions: JET - solid jet for maximum throw. FOG - a cone-shaped jet, the angle being variable up to 120. A sturdy lug indicates a cone angle of about 75. FUS - indicates the flushing position to rinse out impurities with a diameter of up to 5 mm while firefighting is going on. Shut-off Fogfighter is available in two versions, each of which has two flow rate settings: l/min or 300 l/min at 6 bar l/min or 450 l/min at 6 bar The control handle controls the flow as follows: - closed (175) l/min (indicated by a click-in position) (450) l/min (fully open) Automatic pressure maintenance The nozzle incorporates a spring assembly that controls the flow in order to maintain good extinguishing performance at low pressures if the inlet pressure falls below 6 bar. Technical description Materials: Extension tube of plastic-coated aluminium. O-rings of nitrile rubber. Grip sleeve of impact-resistant acetal plastic. Buffer of EPM rubber. Metal parts of AMETA. AMETA is the dezincification resistant alloy of TA ydronics. Maximum working pressure: 160 mwg = 16 bar Flow: 60, 75, 100 or 150 l/min (respectively) at 6 bar. Marking: /483: orange grip sleeve, marked 7 mm /484: red grip sleeve, marked 10 mm. Service: The O-rings should, on a regular basis, be lubricated with a suitable lubricant. Function Turning the grip sleeve from closed position will give a spread spray pattern. The jet is broken up into very small droplets by a toothed ring, for efficient fire-fighting and less water damage. Turning the sleeve further progressively changes the spray pattern to a concentrated jet. These actions require only one hand grip. The jet opens with a spread pattern for maximum safety. Full flow is achieved after turning the grip sleeve about 45, after further turning the flow rate remains constant from the spread pattern to the closed jet. The valve seat has a soft seal for reliable closure /59 484: Identical to the /59 482, but with the addition of an outlet for fitting a nipple for test pressurising of, egs, fire hydrants. This outlet has a G1/8 thread, and is fitted with a plug on delivery. 9 Nozzles As with all other fire-fighting hardware from TA, the one-piece jet unit is robust and reliable. It is widely recognised that even very slight deformation of a nozzle can degrade its performance. The removable nozzles on the jet have excellent durability and resistance to scratches, knocks and heavy blows. The shut-off seal is almost impossible to wear out - the seal is oversized and adaptable. Technical description Materials: PRESSA (light metal): cast bodies; hot-forged connection parts and handle. 13 Couplings Couplings have threaded connectors for fitting to fire hydrant valves. They fit the 32 mm or 63 mm hose couplings. All couplings conform to the Swedish Standard and are supplied complete with seals. They are used for the fitting of dividers, fire hydrant heads, and valves etc. NB: Always vent beneath the seal when replacing a seal. Technical description Materials: PRESSA (light metal) or brass. It meets demanding requirements in respect of reliable water supply to fire-fighters wearing breathing apparatus. The divider incorporates a stainless steel flap valve to allow the water supply to be changed over on load. This flap valve has been covered with high-performance Therbane rubber, The outlets incorporate easily-operated ball valves with special seal designs, ensuring reliable sealing. The combined carrying handle and protection bar has been ergonomically designed to allow the unit to be carried while rolling out hoses. It also provides effective protection for the unit after setting up. The bottom plate raises the divider from the ground and reduces the risk of dirt finding its way into the hoses.
