3 Build the from STAGE 1: THE FUEL TANK YOUR PARTS STEP-BY-STEP ASSEMBLY The parts supplied in this first stage of Pack 1 indicate the quality of the finished model. Paint, decals and chromium plating are already applied. A. Petrol tank B. Front bracket C. Rear bracket D. Fixing screws (x 3) E. Filler cap A B C D E STEP 1 STEP 2 STEP 1 The blue front bracket has a crank in the middle and one end is more curved than the other (shown in inset). Fit it this way round, as shown. STEP 3 STEP 2 Use the tip of a crosshead screwdriver to pick up one of the screws provided. STEP 4 STEP 3 Screw the bracket to the mounting hole in the tank. STEP 4 The red rear bracket fits this way round (shown in inset), with the straight end facing the tank. 3

4 Build the from STEP 5 STEP 6 STEP 5 Use another screw to fix the red bracket to the mounting hole in the tank. STEP 7 STEP 6 The two brackets should look like this. STEP 8 STEP 7 The filler cap has a bayonet fitting, with two lugs that fit into two notches on the tank filler. STEP 8 Fit the cap to the tank, and give it a quarter turn to secure it. Stage complete You have now completed this stage of assembly. Keep your assembled tank safe until it is time to fit it to the motorcycle. 4

5 STEP-BY-STEP ASSEMBLY STAGE 2: THE FRONT WHEEL AND MIRROR YOUR PARTS In this stage, you have received the parts for the front wheel and mirror. You can fit the tyre to the wheel now, but keep the mirror and its fittings until a later stage. A. Front wheel B. Handlebar mirror C. Handlebar clamp D. Washer E. Fixing nut A B C D E STEP 1 STEP 2 STEP 1 Take the wheel together with the tyre from the third stage. STEP 3 STEP 2 Ease the solid rim of the wheel into the well in the centre of the tyre. Stage complete The finished front wheel should look like this. STEP 3 Work your way around the wheel, easing the tyre over the rim as you go. 5

6 Build the from STAGE 3: THE HEADLIGHT YOUR PARTS The parts received here include a working LED and its wiring, pre-installed inside the headlight shell. A. Headlight rim B. Headlight glass C. Front tyre (Used in Stage 2) A B C D I E F H G STEP 1 STEP 2 STEP 3 STEP 1 Take the headlight glass. Its markings are not symmetrical, and it goes this way up. Note the different-sized notches on the left and right. STEP 2 The headlight rim has two small lugs on the inside that match the notches on the glass. STEP 3 The outside of the rim has this clamp detail moulded in at one point. This will go at the bottom of the finished headlight. 6

7 STEP-BY-STEP ASSEMBLY STEP 4 STEP 5 STEP 4 Fit the glass into the rim, with the glass curving outwards. Make sure that the notches and lugs shown in Steps 1 and 2 line up with each other. STEP 5 Ensure that the lugs go into the notches so that the glass fits flush. STEP 6 STEP 7 STEP 6 The headlight reflector has two notches in the rim that match the notches in the glass. STEP 7 Line up the notches in the reflector with the lugs on the rim, in the same way you did with the glass in Step 4, and press it all the way into the rim. STEP 8 STEP 9 STEP 8 The headlight shell has two large tangs (arrowed), which fit into matching recesses in the rim. It doesn t matter which way up these go. STEP 9 Fit the rim over the two tangs, and give it a slight twist in the direction of the arrow to lock the headlight assembly onto the shell. 7

8 Build the from STEP 10 STEP 11 STEP 10 Holding the light with the clamp from Step 3 on top, align the right-hand bracket this way up. STEP 11 Line up the mounting holes on the bracket and the headlight shell. STEP 12 STEP 13 STEP 12 Take one of the fixing screws and fit it into the hole. Screw it in finger-tight. STEP 14 STEP 13 Use the T-bar spanner provided to tighten the screw firmly. Stage complete The headlight should look like this, with the rim clamp at the bottom. STEP 14 Take the left-hand bracket and fit it in the same way as in Steps
