2 WARNING: Ensure the motorcycle is stabilised and adequately supported, to prevent it from falling and causing damage or injury. 1. Unpack the right hand soft pannier, centre panel and stiffener from the left hand soft pannier. 2. Open the right hand soft pannier and undo the zip fastener to the compartment directly beneath the carrying handle. 3. Fit the stiffening panel as shown and close the zip fastener. CAUTION: When fitting the! 1 / 4 turn clips, ensure the clip is flush with the outside face of the each bracket. Carefully check the orientation before fitting these clips as they are impossible to remove without damaging them (see diagram on page 3 for correct orientation). 5. Fit the 1 / 4 turn clips to the mounting brackets by inserting one of the M8 setscrews into the clip, fitting one edge of the clip into the square hole in the bracket and levering the clip into place. Remove the setscrew. Fitting the stiffener to the right hand pannier 4. Fit the centre panel over the seat from the rear and tighten the securing straps underneath the seat. 1. Bracket 2. Clip 3. Setscrew 6. Place the motorcycle on a paddock stand. 7. Remove the seat and disconnect the battery, negative (black) lead first. 8. Disconnect the rear light multiplug. 9. 3 10. Carefully ease the side panel mounting bayonets out of their rubber mountings and remove the side panel. 11. Remove the fixings securing the rear footrest hangers to the frame and replace them with the M8 X 30 mm items supplied with the kit. Tighten the fixings to 30 Nm. 14. Before removing the fixing shown in the illustration below, note the routing of the seat release cable. Remove the fixing shown in the illustration. 1. Fixing 1. Rear footrest hangers 2. Fixings 15. Position the left hand rear mounting bracket and secure with the M8x20 mm bolt inserted from inside the rear mudguard tray. Tighten to 30 Nm. 12. With the hook foremost, fit the front right hand mounting bracket over the fixings protruding through to the inside of the right hand footrest hanger and secure with two M8 locknuts nuts. Repeat the actions of paragraph 12 for the left hand mounting bracket. 3

4 16. Fit the right hand bracket as shown in the illustration below. Insert the new fixing from inside the mudguard tray and tighten to 30 Nm. 21. Position the luggage, looping the retaining straps around the hook on the front mounting brackets and secure with the quick release clips. 1. Right hand rear mounting bracket 17. Refit the side panels and tighten the fixings to 3Nm. 18. Fit the quarter turn fasteners through the protector panels. 19. Secure the quarter turn fasteners to the panel protectors by pushing the rubber retainers onto the shank of the fixings, from inside the panel. Position the retainer 16mm from the tip of the quarter turn fastener, in line with the groove in the shank. 20. Fit the panel protectors over the side panels and secure with the special quarter turn fixings supplied. To fix the panels, push the fastener straight in. to remove, turn the fastener a quarter turn in any direction. 1. Securing strap in position (right hand side shown) 22. Adjust the straps as required. 23. Reconnect the battery, positive (red) lead first. 24. Refit the seat. 25. Remove the paddock stand and place the motorcycle on its side stand. WARNING: The maximum safe load for each pannier is 3 Kg (6.6 lbs). Never exceed this loading limit as this may cause the motorcycle to become unstable leading to loss of control and an accident. WARNING: In all cases, loads must be evenly distributed on both sides of the motorcycle. Uneven loading may cause instability, loss of control and an accident. 1. Side panel protector WARNING: After fitting the luggage system, operate the motorcycle in a safe area free from traffic to gain familiarity with the new handling characteristics. Operation when not familiar with the new characteristics of the motorcycle may result in an accident causing injury or death. 1. Quarter turn fixings 4

5 WARNING: Never ride in excess of 80mph on a motorcycle that is equipped with a Triumph luggage system. The presence of such a luggage system will affect the stability and handling of the motorcycle. Any such changes in stability may lead to loss of control and an accident. WARNING: The motorcycle must not be operated above the legal road speed limit except in closed course conditions. 5
