2 Warning: 1. Do not, drill, cut, weld or otherwise modify the towbar. 2. If you are using electric welding on a motor vehicle, always check that the vehicle is not equipped with electronic engine or instrument management equipment. Failure to do so could destroy any onboard computers. If in doubt, check with the vehicle's manufacturer. General: 1. Ensure all hardware items have been included 2. It is recommended that the instructions are read through and completely understood before making any attempt to fit this product. 3. Be wary of any changes to vehicle designs or other accessories that may conflict with the installation of this product. 4. Before drilling ensure that the area is clear of fuel, electrical & other components. 5. All holes drilled into the body panels shall have all burrs & swarf removed then coated with a suitable rust preventative paint. 6. The high tensile fasteners supplied with this product were used to achieve the specified rating. If replacement is required ensure that fasteners of the same rating & quality are used. Contact an authorised Hayman Reese dealer if further information is required. 7. Ensure that all hardware is fastened to torque list below check fasteners on regular basis. 8. Towbar load rating sticker provided with this product shall be conspicuously located on inside rear end of the driver's door. (See diagram below). Use the right load rating sticker as per the model. 9. Hayman Reese recommends that you check your tow ball to ensure that it complies with the Australian standards AS PLEASE NOTE: It is advised to remove your lug or tbm when not actually towing so as to produce a clear view of the vehicles registration plate if obscured, and to also provide maximum available departure angle. Tow bar Maintenance and Care. Hayman Reese recommends that bolt torque s, as listed below, are routinely and regularly inspected and checked for correct tension. Replace any worn or defective parts. We recommended to remove Tow Ball Mounts (TBM s, tongues or lugs) when not being used for any considerable length of time. So as to avoid injury, when not towing it is suggested that the tongue, Pull Pin and R-clip are removed then stored in a safe, clean and dry place, away from excessive moisture. Hitch Pull Pins and spring R clips are regularly checked for proper installation. Replace worn or defective parts. Page 2 of 12

4 1. Remove scrivets and bolt. 2. Disconnect rear door strut from the ball joint. 3. Remove the plastic part by unclipping carefully. Page 4 of 12

5 4. Remove 5 bolts. 5. Remove 1 bolt and 2 scrivets from the wheel arch. Page 5 of 12

6 6. Remove 1 screw and 1 scrivet from underneath rear quarter each side. 7. Remove three screws from rear bumper fascia lip. Page 6 of 12

7 8. Unclip wiring harness connectors on passenger side and reverse sensors if fitted. Repeat on the other side. Page 7 of 12

8 9. Using two people unclip the bumper bar assembly carefully. 10. Remove shipping hook if fitted. 11. Loosely secure the front plate by 4 M12 fine pitch bolts. Page 8 of 12

9 12. Lift towbar into position and loosely secure with 2 M12 fine pitch bolts on the sidearm to the captive nuts on the car, two M12 fine pitch bolts from inside the chassis rail be introducing the nut plate on wires. Also secure the front plate to the towbar by two M12x50 fine pitch bolts. Page 9 of 12

12 EXHAUST BRACKET 14. Mount Exhaust Bracket to Chassis Rail; a. For 3 Door, use 7/16 x1-1/4 Bolt with 7/16 x1-1/4 Flat and Spring Washer and Nut Plate; M8x40 Bolt with M8 Spring Washer and M8 Flat Washer. b. For 5 Door, use M8x30 Bolt with M8 Spring Washer and M8 Flat Washer. Torque all the bolts according to torque specification on page 3. Secure the TBM with pull pin and spring cotter pin. M8x40 BOLT 16. Assemble the bumper bar assembly in the reverse order of removal. 14 PART No: WL TOYOTA PRADO 1. In the luggage compartment, remove the five luggage compartment rear trim caps. Remove the five fasteners (1) from the rear trim, then remove the rear trim (2). 2. Remove the LHS jack compartment access door (1). Carefully dislodge and peel open the LHS luggage compartment trim towards the centre of the vehicle (2) to reveal trailer break-out connector. 3. Connect the Trailer Patch Harness (P/No: WL) (1) to the vehicle breakout connector (2). 15 PART No: WL TOYOTA PRADO 4. Connect the Trailer Patch Harness (1) to the ECU module (P/No: 0484X) (2). Adhere the ECU module (2) to the indicated location in the cavity below the LHS tail light. 5. Secure the earth ring terminal to the earthing point (1). 6. Drill a Ø30mm hole in the indicated location (1). File back any ruff edges and spray the hole with a rust inhibitor. 16 PART No: WL TOYOTA PRADO 7. Secure the Tail Harness (Tail length 1200mm) trailer socket (1) to the towbar mounting bracket using M4 fasteners. Route the Tail Harness over to the previously drilled hole and feed the connector into the vehicle. Adjust the harness grommet to the required position and secure grommet with a cable tie and then secure the grommet in place. Secure the harness to the towbar using cable ties 8. Connect the Tail Harness 8-way male connector (1) to the Trailer Patch Harness 8-way female connector (2). 9. Test the Trailer Harness function using a Light Board or multimeter. Secure the Trailer Patch Harness using cables ties. Refit all removed parts and secure all fasteners ensuring there are no squeaks or rattles. Place instructions in glove box after fitment.
