1 After a conductor has been cut it is then prepared for the next step or for crimpin. For this purpose, a specific lenth of the conductor insulation has to be removed, while preventin damae to the conductor. The lenth of the conductor insulation to be removed depends on the terminal clampin point or the crimp to be processed. Professional strippin tools uarantee perfect results due to precise adjustment of the tool to the correspondin insulation and the conductor cross-section. 2 Strippin means the cuttin and removal of the insulation. The followin must be ensured in performin this task: The strippin dimension must be observed and neither the conductor nor the remainin insulation must be damaed. DI IEC 352 part 2 (previously DI IEC 48/290) contains references to strippin faults which must be avoided: Correctly stripped conductor Possible faults durin strippin: Insulation has not been cut properly Remains of the conductor insulation are still to be found on the stripped conductor To avoid these faults, it is important that the strippin tool is suited to the insulation and to the cross-section rane of the conductor. Cable knives (pocket knives) should certainly not be used, because the strippin quality here depends on the manual dexterity of the user. The quality is not consistent, even when the user is hihly skilled. Preference should be iven to hand-operated tools which adjust automatically to the correspondin cross-section of the conductor. They do not cause any damae to the conductor durin strippin and avoid the previously listed faults. stripax strippin tools uarantee a consistent strippin result which complies with DI reulations.
