2 ITS AREA VASTA: A BRIEF PRESENTATION OF THE COMPANY ITS Area Vasta Ltd is a consortium comprised of 8 partners: 1.City of Cagliari 2.City of Quartu S.Elena 3.Town of Monserrato 4.Town of Selargius 5.Town of Elmas 6.Town of Assemini 7.Town of Decimomannu 8.CTM ITS Area Vasta Scarl has been created to manage the project INTEGRATION PROJECT AND TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT OF MOBILITY CONTROL SYSTEMS IN THE EXTENDED AREA OF CAGLIARI. The project, revolving around the realization of an integrated mobility system, has been originally funded by the Department of Transportation of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia within the EU Structural Funds ( ) The consortium ITS Area Vasta has a sole administrator and uses mainly employees from CTM, who lend their expertise to the consortium on a part time basis

4 THE PROJECT: THE TWO-PHASE BREAKDOWN The first phase, characterized by the partnership between CTM (the local transit agency) and the city of Cagliari, was realized between The second phase, for the development of telecommunication and info-mobility systems within the metropolitan area of Cagliari, has started in 2008 and is yet to be completed Overall investment: 28.9m Investment for info-mobility: 80 /resident

9 THE PROJECT: SOME RECENT DEVELOPMENTS APPS USED TO PROVIDE CUSTOMERS AND CTM S EMPLOYEES WITH NEW SERVICES FOR USERS FOR CTM EMPLOYEES IT PROVIDES INFOS ON THE ROUTES AVAILABLE ON THE NETWORK AND THE REAL TIME TRANSITS AT BUS STOPS IT PROVIDES REAL TIME INFOS ON CTM S ROUTES IT ESTIMATES THE OPTIMAL ROUTE TO GET FROM POINT A TO POINT B IT PROVIDES REAL TIME INFOS ON EACH SINGLE EN-ROUTE BUS IT TRACKS THE NEAREST BUS STOPS AND BUS TICKETS SELLERS IT PROVIDES ACCESS TO THE CTM S INTRANET AND OTHER DOCUMENTS
