5 Integrated Dynamic Transit Operations (IDTO) Program Proof of concept demonstration and testing in Fall 2014 in Orlando, FL area to test technology transferability Connection Protection (T-CONNECT): increase the likelihood that a traveler makes a successful transfer Dynamic Transit Operations (T-DISP): provide both real-time trip planning information and demand-responsive transportation access Dynamic Ridesharing (D-RIDE): provide access to a ridesharing network for travelers by communicating needs (passengers) or available space (drivers) Demonstration from March to December 2014 in Columbus, OH testing T-CONNECT and trip planning component of T-DISP The smartphone application C-Ride developed by the Battelle Memorial Institute 5

9 Mobility on Demand Mobility on Demand (MOD): a mode-agnostic view of transportation that may include public private and non-profit operators that blurs the lines of public transportation into a mobility ecosystem Benefits to users and operators: efficiency, enhanced customer service, potential solutions for first mile/last mile and paratransit 9

10 Emerging MOD Research ITS JPO foundational research to develop use cases, performance metrics, and policy/regulations needs Examination of field proofs of concept and pilots FTA MOD Sandbox Safe place for public transit operators, private sector providers, non-profits, etc. to develop solutions Anticipate Notice of Funds Authorization in April 10
