5 REFINED FETROLEUM PRODUCTS JANUARY Output of refined petroleum products in Canada during January, 1953 totalled 11,440,018 barrels compared with 10,474,077 barrels in January, The total for the month under review included 5,083,377 barrels of motor gasoline, 54,655 barrels of aviation gasoline, 2,656,247 barrels of heavy fuel oil (Nos. 4, 5 and 6), 641,662 barrels of diesel fuel, 1,323,118 barrels of furnace oil, 131,045 barrels of other light fuel oil, 818,616 barrels of stove oil (No. I fuel oil), 2,773 barrels of tractor fuel, 48,866 barrels of aviation turbine fuel, 52,693 barrels of naphtha specialties, and 587,844 barrels of other refinery products such as lubricating oils, asphalt, coke, liquefied petroleum gases, etc. Refineries in Canada used 12, barrels of crude oil during January, 1953, compared with 10,826,211 barrels in January, Receipts of crude oil during the current month totalled 11,229,911 barrels including 7,392,662 barrels of imported oil and 3,837,249 barrels from Canadian sources of supply. Inventories of crude at the end of the month amounted to 9,848,111 barrels compared with 6,533,698 barrels on the corresponding date of last year. The consumption of liquid petroleum fuels in Canada, as computed from refinery shipments and from imports, exports and changes in marketing inventories of refiners, wholesalers and major consumers, was as follows in January, 1953, all figures being in barrels of 35 Imperial gallons: Naphtha specialties, 73,997; aviation gasoline, 198,752; motor gasoline, 3,730,271; tractor fuel, 1,014; aviation turbine fuel, 53,663; kerosene, 61,111; stove oil (No. 1 fuel oil), 1,329,677; diesel fuel, 699,314; furnace oil, 3,579,474; other light fuel oil, 199,426; and heavy fuel oil (Nos. 4, 5 and 6), 21793,517.
