1 /Trim trio Description The PI 43 series is a 43 position two part plug and receptacle connector system designed to style C dimensions. It can be use in wire applications as well as in board applications for power and high frequency signal distribution within a Eurorack 19" cardrack system. Features and benefits - Compatible with Trim Trio contacts - Contacts can easily be replaced - Any combination of different contact styles can be used within the same housing, including machined, stamped & formed power contacts as well as subminiature coaxial contacts. Contact accomodation Housings can accomodate various contact types, see Trim Trio catalogue for more information. - RM/RC machined contacts - SMM/SCM formed one piece contacts - SM/SC formed two piece contacts - RMDX/RCDX coaxial contacts - Fibre optic contacts BOARDMOUNT APPLICATIONS The PI43 boardmount version, derived from the wire version, is designed for direct application on a printed circuit board. The connectors are preassembled with pin or socket N 16 contacts which are intermateable with the existing wire versions. The PI43 boardmount connectors are intermateable with the PI43 wire versions fitted with power contacts. Features and benefits - Connectors supplied preassembled with 43 dip solder contacts - Available with pin and socket contacts for both straight and right angle terminations i.e. standard and reverse mount. - Selective loading and other termination lengths optional - Intermateable with PI43 wire versions fitted with: - RM/RC machined contacts - SMM/SCM formed one piece contacts - SM/SC formed two piece contacts Construction Contacts are made of high conductivity copper alloy and plated with gold over nickel to fulfill requirements of class II. 2 Contact accomodation The PI43 wire connectors are designed to accomodate all contact types used in the Trim Trio multipin connector series. All information needed on tooling ranges from simple handtools to semi-automatic strip and crimp machines as well as all contacts in the following paragraphs are fully described in the Trim Trio catalogue. Solid machined contacts No16 RM/RC contacts are designed for top quality, high performance applications. Available in various terminations: 1- maxi wrap or mini wrap 2- hand solder 3- dip solder 4- crimp: AWG 16 to 30 Stamped and formed contacts Low cost crimp contacts available gold or tin plated, loose piece or reel fed for manual or automatic assembly.
