From collision avoidance (TCS, TWS) to in-flight entertainment/networking, new avionics equipment demands higher data transmission rates. Whether it's Fibre Channel, or 00-Base-T or 00-Base-FX Ethernet and beyond, Tyco Electronics has the insert configurations and copper and fiber hardware (Quadrax contacts, RF, and Mini-Expanded Beam Fiber Optics) to meet the need. Standard industry configurations are available. For designs that require custom configurations, Tyco Electronics will work with you to provide the connector solution required. RINC 600 Connectors represent a new generation of standardized rack and panel connectors for aircraft applications. Compared to the preceding RINC 404 standard, the new avionics connectors feature significantly reduced mating forces; increased numbers of contacts in housings proportioned to thinner black-box shapes; and floating, front-release keying. RINC 600 Connectors capitalize on the new design by adding unique features while maintaining intermateability. For instance, MP contact inserts are field replaceable and manufactured to precise tolerances so that when they are installed they are within.006 [0.5] of true position. MP contacts for RINC 600 Connectors are applied with standard crimping tools the same ones used for RINC 404 contacts. utomatic crimping equipment is available for higher productivity and lower applied costs. The benefits of reduced mating forces, averaging.5 ounces [0.42 N] for the old 404 contacts, can be realized in RINC 600 Connectors through fitting of these new, interchangeable contacts. RINC 600 coaxial contacts also are crimp applied for reliable, solder-free installation. It is easy to specify RINC 600 Connectors by descriptive part numbers. n example of a descriptive part number is shown on page 3, with an explanation of each component of the part number and page references for complete information.
