Function Function The following visibility and lighting functions can be activated remotely: More information on lighting is found in the Deactivation of the driving light and Alternating main beam flashing documents. Hazard warning signal Main beam Work light External lighting device check Horn Windscreen wipers Behaviour Hazard warning signal All direction indicator lamps flash. The function can be configured as follows: The EXT switch must be pressed before activation. The hazard warning signal flashes the whole time when activated. When the function is activated, the hazard warning signal is switched off automatically when the vehicle moves and switched on automatically when the vehicle is stationary. Main beam Main beam comes on. The function can be configured as follows: The spotlights come on together with the main beam. The EXT switch must be pressed before activation. 22: Issue 2.1 en-gb 1 (10)

Behaviour When the function is activated, the main beam is switched off automatically when the vehicle moves and switched on automatically when the vehicle is stationary. Work light Activates work light. Remote activation of the work light can be done via BIC (Bodywork Interface configuration) or External CAN. When activation is not requested any longer the work light is switched off. If the work light is activated via a switch it can be deactivated by another signal via BIC or via External CAN. If activation and deactivation is requested at the same time from BIC, the work light will come on automatically when the vehicle is stationary and go off automatically when the vehicle moves. If the speed exceeds a preset value, the function will be deactivated irrespective of what the BCI control unit requests. The speed limit can be set by a parameter. External lighting and reverse alarm check Switches on the external lighting devices in sequence so that the driver can check that the lighting and reverse alarm are working. The function is activated and deactivated by sending a second pulse to the selected input. 22: Issue 2.1 en-gb 2 (10)

Behaviour Horn Activates the horn. The function can be configured as follows: The EXT switch must be pressed before activation. When the function is activated, the horn is switched off automatically when the vehicle moves and switched on automatically when the vehicle is stationary. Windscreen wipers Activates the windscreen wipers. The function can be configured as follows: The windscreen wipers operate at high or low speed The EXT switch must be pressed before activation. When the function is activated, the windscreen wipers are switched off automatically when the vehicle moves and switched on automatically when the vehicle is stationary. 22: Issue 2.1 en-gb 3 (10)

Behaviour Activation The following conditions must be fulfilled at activation of the different functions: List of conditions: 1. Starter key in drive position 2. EXT switch activated 3. Stationary 4. Parking brake applied Function Compulsory Possible conditions Hazard warning signal 1 2 and 3 Main beam 1 2 and 3 Work light 1 External lighting check 1 and 4 Horn 1 2 and 3 Windscreen wipers 1 2 and 3 If these conditions are fulfilled, the function can be activated via BIC (Bodywork Interface Configuration) and External CAN. With or without EXT switch (sequential check) With EXT switch: The EXT switch must be activated after the starter key has been turned to the drive position. Only then, the selected function can be activated. Without EXT switch: Activation of the function has no dependency on the EXT switch. 22: Issue 2.1 en-gb 4 (10)

Setting to use the work light together with reversing light. Setting of the work light to go out automatically when the vehicle exceeds a certain speed. Select the speed of the windscreen wipers at remote activation. Here you set how the possibility of remote control of the visibility system functions is to depend on the vehicle s speed. a. The parameter setting affects all functions that are dependent on the EXT switch. Alternative 2: The spotlights are switched on both in the sun visor and the bumper.
