Yur safety, and that f thers, basically lies in yur ability t cntrl and perate the vehicle. Befre using the equipment fr the first time, read this riginal manual thrughly, act accrding t the infrmatin cntained and keep it in a safe place fr future reference r subsequent wners. Please read the Chapter "Safety Infrmatin" prir t starting the vehicle t ensure it is perated and used safely. The perating manual cntains all the mst imprtant infrmatin regarding peratin, maintenance and service. Thrughut this perating manual, sectins which cncern safety are indicated by crrespnding warning symbls. Shuld yu have any questins in respect f the vehicle r perating manual, yur authrized Hak dealer is available t prvide help at any time. Please be expressly advised that yu cannt base any legal claims n the infrmatin cntained in this manual. Ensure nly riginal spare parts are used shuld any repairs be necessary. Only such riginal spare parts warrant that the equipment is reliably ready t use at all times. Subject t mdificatin as required by technical advancement. Valid as f: April 2014 Hak GmbH D Bad Oldesle Hamburger Str Phne ++49 (0) Prper use The Sweepmaster is a sweeping intended fr cmmercial use and has been exclusively designed fr sweeping up dry and wet refuse frm areas such as prductin plants, warehuses, car parks and pedestrian precincts. Any use beynd this is regarded as imprper use. The manufacturer is nt cnsidered liable fr any damage resulting frm imprper use; the user is slely respnsible fr all the risks. The sweeping vehicle must nt be used t clear up txic, inflammable r ther substances which represent a ptential health hazard. Intended use als includes maintaining and bserving the perating, maintenance and repair cnditins prescribed by the manufacturer. The Sweepmaster may nly be perated, serviced and repaired by persnnel wh are familiar with the wrk invlved and are aware f the risks. Based n the cnceptin, design and cnstructin f the mdel intrduced nt the market by us, the machine cmplies with the applicable basic safety and health requirements stipulated in the EC Directive (refer t Declaratin f Cnfrmity). This declaratin is n lnger cnsidered valid in the event f mdificatins t the machine nt authrized by us. The manufacturer is nt deemed liable fr any damage resulting frm unauthrized mdificatins t the machine. 2

3 Intrductin Ntes n warranty The terms defined in the purchase agreement apply. Claims fr cmpensatin related t damage are excluded frm the terms f warranty when the damage is the result f failure t bserve regulatins cncerning service and maintenance. Maintenance wrk must be perfrmed by authrized Hak service centers and cnfirmed in the Maintenance Reprt which serves as a warranty lgbk. The fllwing are excluded frm the terms f warranty: wear and tear thrugh veruse, defective fuses, imprper handling and use r unauthrized mdificatins. Claims under the terms f warranty are als annulled when damage ccurs t the vehicle resulting frm the use f parts r accessries nt explicitly apprved by us r frm failure t bserve maintenance regulatins. Acceptance f the machine Inspect the vehicle immediately n delivery fr signs f transprt damage. Replacement will be made when cnfirmatin is prvided immediately by the freight carrier with regard t the damage and the damage reprt is sent t ur authrized sales partner tgether with the cnsignment nte. Dispsing f the machine Render the machine inperable. It must nt represent a surce f risks t children. Dispse f the machine in accrdance with the applicable lcal regulatins. Fr further infrmatin n dispsal and recycling, cntact the authrized Hak dealer where yu purchased the machine. Used batteries with the recycling symbl cntain reusable cmmdities. The heavy metals cntained simultaneusly represent a serius risk t health and t the envirnment. Never pen batteries r damage them. Never tuch, inhale r swallw any material inside batteries. Health hazard! Never allw batteries t pllute the envirnment. Risk f cntaminating the grund and water! In accrdance with the symbl with the crssed ut bin, these batteries must nt be dispsed f in dmestic waste. The return and recycling f ld batteries must be agreed n with yur authrized Hak dealer in accrdance with the Battery Law 6 and 8 (BattG). Regulatins fr apprval The Sweepmaster is an autmtive machine within the terms defined in the Rad Traffic Licensing Regulatins (FZV 2, previusly StVZO 18). On request, the manufacturing plant can enclse a reprt with which t acquire the vehicle type apprval. This reprt is used by the lcal vehicle registratin ffice t prduce a valid vehicle registratin license (Vehicle Registratin Certificate, Part 1). An fficial license number is nt necessary. A general inspectin in accrdance with 29 StVZO (rad traffic licensing regulatin) is nt required either because the vehicle is designed fr a tp speed under 20 kph. In accrdance with the StVZO, the vehicle must carry a first-aid kit, warning triangle and the vehicle registratin license when used n public rads, paths and pedestrian precincts. If any attachments r cnversins are made n the Sweepmaster, which affect the equipment described in the vehicle registratin license and are nt mentined in the vehicle registratin li- 3

4 Intrductin cense, the license becmes invalid. T acquire a new vehicle registratin license, the vehicle must be presented t an fficially accepted expert t prduce a new reprt. The reprt becmes the fficial vehicle registratin license when the vehicle registratin ffice applies the applicable stamp. Driving license In accrdance with the prvisins n driving licenses, a persn wh intends t drive a mtr vehicle cnstructed with a tp speed in excess f 6 kph n public rads, paths and pedestrian precincts, must be in pssessin f a valid driving license. Drivers f the Sweepmaster require a driving license fr autmtive agricultural machines up t 25 kph (Class L r higher). 4

8 Safety Infrmatin 1.2 General infrmatin Apart frm the prvisins cntained in this instructin manual, the general safety prvisins and the accident preventin regulatins as impsed by law have t be cmplied with. Befre taking yur machine int peratin, carefully read the instructin manual and cmply with all pints mentined there during wrk. Persns being trained by qualified Hak technicians nly are authrised t perate, service and repair the machine. This vehicle is nt intended t be used by persns (including children) with limited physical r mental capabilities r persns withut sufficient experience and ability. Yu are advised t thrughly study the safety instructins since precise knwledge nly helps aviding errrs during peratin f the machine and thus guarantee faultless usage f the machine. The perating instructins have t be at hand at the place f use f the machine, and therefre have t be kept readily available at the machine. When selling r letting the machine fr rent, hand ut these dcuments t the new wner/peratr and have the transfer certified! The warning and instructin plates attached t the machine cntain valuable advice abut safe peratin. Immediately replace incmplete r illegible labels. As far as safety standards are cncerned, spare have t equal genuine spare parts! Keep clear f hazard zne f the Sweepmaster. Only use a mbile phne when the machine standing still. Passenger transprt is nt admitted. 1.3 Operating infrmatin Check the peratinal safety f the vehicle each time befre starting it up! Clear any faults immediately! Befre starting wrk, the peratr must be fully familiar with all adjustment, perating and cntrl elements as well as their respective functin! It is t late t d this when the vehicle is actually in peratin! Always wear heavy duty, nn-slip ftwear when wrking with the vehicle. The vehicle may nly be driven n and the equipment used n thse surfaces which have been apprved by the cntractr r persn appinted by him. When using the vehicle, it is essential t pay attentin t third parties, especially children. The vehicle is nt suitable fr clearing up hazardus, inflammable r explsive fluids, dust r substances. This vehicle must nt be used as dust cleaner equipped with a dust filter insert (dust cllectr) t clear up dust which culd represent a hazard t health. It is frbidden t use the vehicle in ptentially explsive atmspheres. Remve the ignitin key t prevent unauthrized use f the vehicle. The vehicle and its equipment must be checked in terms f perfect wrking cnditin and peratinal safety befre being put int use. The vehicle must nt be used if it is nt in a prper wrking cnditin. Befre putting the vehicle int peratin, adjust the driver's seat s that yu have a perfect view f the frnt 8

9 Safety Infrmatin and rear path f travel and wrking area! Fr safety reasns, the driver's seat is equipped with a seat cntact switch. The engine can nly be started when the peratr is sitting n the driver's seat. The functin f the seat cntact switch must nt be bypassed. The seat cntact switch is mnitred electrnically. Any attempt at manipulatin can lead t the vehicle being autmatically lcked against use. Always switch ff all the drives befre starting the engine. The vehicle must nly be started, put int mtin and stpped frm the seat. D nt allw the engine t run in clsed rms! Risk f pisning! Ensure there is sufficient ventilatin when sweeping in clsed spaces (dust and exhaust fumes). Risk f pisning! The driving speed must always be adapted t the ambient cnditins and lad status. Three-wheel vehicles are less stable than fur-wheel vehicles, therefre: avid sudden steering mvements when driving at higher speeds, taking crners at t high a speed culd cause the vehicle t tip. Only use the vehicles n level surfaces, never n gradients. Drive up and dwn inclines in straight lines. When driving up, dwn r acrss slpes, avid turning crners suddenly r in jerks. There is a risk f tipping when in an inclined psitin! D nt drive the vehicle n slpes with a gradient steeper than the limit gradient indicated n the vehicle. The apprved grss ttal weight and permissible axle lads must never be exceeded. Check the fill level f the sweepings cntainer at frequent intervals. Befre raising r lwering the sweepings cntainer, ensure that there are n persns, animals r items in the wrking area. Risk f crushing and shearing. Befre raising r lwering the sweepings cntainer, ensure that there is a sufficient safety clearance. The sweepings cntainer may nly be raised in the direct vicinity f the waste cntainer. Only empty the sweepings cntainer n level, slid grund. Never sweep when the sweepings cntainer is in a raised psitin. Pay attentin t any persns in the vicinity when emptying the sweepings cntainer. The filter may nly be shaken when the sweepings cntainer has been clsed. Pay attentin t ht parts, e.g. cling water, exhaust manifld, etc. Never exceed the max. lad capacity f the cntainer! The vehicle may nly be driven at creeping speed when the sweepings cntainer has been raised. Avid any sudden steering mvements r braking. If yu smell exhaust fumes, switch ff the engine immediately and lcate the cause. Check the exhaust system at regular intervals. When the vehicle is running at creeping speed, check the zer pint adjustment f the acceleratr. When driving dwn a slpe, decelerate the vehicle with the brake; in an emergency, switch the vehicle ff by remving the ignitin key. 9

10 Safety Infrmatin Befre starting t drive, the seat cnsle must be lcked by means f the rllver bar (nly with prf rf ptin). D nt use the vehicle in areas where the driver is at risk f being hit by falling bjects (e.g. warehuses) withut a prtective rf structure (refer t prf rf ptin). Cntact the trade assciatin respnsible fr yu as t whether bligatins exist in this respect. 1.4 Maintenance infrmatin Operating persnnel must cmplete the necessary daily and weekly maintenance wrk. All ther maintenance wrk must be cmpleted at yur nearest Hak service center. The maintenance wrk and maintenance intervals prescribed in the perating manual must be adhered t. Allw the engine t cl dwn befre starting cleaning and maintenance wrk. Ht surfaces represent a risk f burns! Pay attentin t any rtating parts befre starting cleaning and maintenance wrk. They represent a risk f crushing! Suitable tls must be used fr cleaning and maintenance wrk. The vehicle must be inspected by a recgnized technical expert in respect f peratinal safety, within the terms f the applicable accident preventin laws, at reasnable intervals (we recmmend at least nce a year) and fllwing mdificatin r repairs. Spare parts must cmply with the minimum technical requirements stipulated by the manufacturer! This is ensured by the use f riginal spare parts. Only use the rtary brushes and side brushes recmmended by the manufacturer (refer t Technical Data). The use f ther rtary brushes and side brushes culd impair safety. Only use the air and il filters recmmended by the manufacturer (refer t Technical Data). The use f ther filters culd impair safety. The vehicle must be switched ff prir t cleaning r servicing it r t replacing parts. The ignitin key must be remved. The sweepings cntainer must be cleaned regularly t prevent the accumulatin f bacteria. The vehicle is splashprf (IPX3). It is nt permitted t clean the vehicle with a pressure washer r steam blaster. The engine must be switched ff when transprting the vehicle. If the Sweepmaster is jacked up with a jack, it must be prperly supprted. N persns may be n the Sweepmaster when it is jacked r raised. When changing wheels, the vehicle must be additinally secured frm rlling away by placing wheel chcks against the wheels. Always change wheels n level, slid grund, where pssible. D nt remve r replace tires r repair ne n a rim. Always g t a prper wrkshp fr wrk n tires and rims because they have specially trained persnnel and special safety tls. Never lsen the screws in the tw-part rims while the wheel is still munted n the vehicle and there is air in the tires. Risk f severe injury! D nt carry ut any welding, drilling, sawing r grinding wrk n frame parts. Damaged parts may nly be replaced by specialist wrkshps ap- 10

11 Safety Infrmatin prved by Hak. Only use riginal fuses. Using fuses which are t pwerful culd damage the electrical installatin and lead t fires. Always discnnect the negative ple f the battery when wrking n the electrical installatin. Never leave the batteries in a discharged state but recharge them as sn as pssible. Only refill distilled water. When the cells are in gd cnditin, never refill the battery acid. T prevent current leaks, always keep the battery clean and dry, prtect it frm siling by metallic dust, fr example. Battery acid is very crrsive (keep ut f reach f children). Wear prtective gggles when cntrlling the acid level. In the event f acid splashing in the eyes, rinse them with water fr apprx. 15 minutes and seek medical attentin immediately. Always wear apprpriate prtective clthing when handling the battery (e.g. prtective glves, -finger stalls). Never use an pen flame (risk f explsin). When installing r remving the battery r changing it, there is a risk f crushing and shearing. Any fluids (fuel, hydraulic il) escaping under high pressure can penetrate the skin and cause severe injuries. Seek medical attentin immediately in rder t prevent the risk f infectin. Take care when draining ht il - risk f burns. Subject the brake system t a thrugh inspectin regularly! Adjustments and repairs t the brake system may nly be cmpleted by specialist wrkshps apprved by Hak r recgnized brake service wrkshps. Subject the hydraulic system t a thrugh inspectin regularly! Adjustment and repair wrk n the hydraulic system may nly be perfrmed in specialist Hak wrkshps. Check hydraulic lines and hses regularly fr signs f damage and leaks. Replace damaged lines and hses immediately. Check the exhaust system at regular intervals. 1.5 Particular risks Safety equipment Never perate the Sweepmaster withut effective safety equipment (this includes the side dr lck)! Refueling Take the utmst care when handling fuel - increased risk f fire! Never fill fuel in the vicinity f naked flames r ignitable sparks! D nt smke when filling fuel! Switch ff the engine, remve the ignitin key and apply the parking brake befre filling fuel. Never fill fuel in clsed rms! Clear up spilt fuel immediately! Electrnics Only use riginal fuses with the prescribed amperage. In the case f defects in the electrical installatin, switch the vehicle ff immediately and clear the fault. Wrk n the electrical equipment may nly be carried ut by electricians wh have received the necessary training and in accrdance with the electrical engineering regulatins. The vehicle's electrical equipment must be inspected/checked at regular intervals. Defects, such as lse 11

12 Safety Infrmatin cnnectins and cable damage, must be rectified immediately. Observe the infrmatin in the perating manual prvided by the battery manufacturer. Never lay any metallic bjects r tls n batteries - risk f shrt circuit! Ensure sufficient ventilatin in the charging area when charging the batteries risk f explsin! Open the seat cver during the charging prcess. 1.6 Envirnmental prtectin A certain factual expertise is required in rder t use substances which culd represent a risk t health and the envirnment. Always bserve legal regulatins and lcal directives when dispsing f cleaning agents, refer t the Water Resurces Act. Used batteries with the recycling symbl cntain reusable cmmdities. In accrdance with symbl with the crssed ut garbage bin, these batteries must nt be dispsed f in dmestic waste. The return and recycling f ld batteries must be agreed n with yur authrized Hak dealer in accrdance with the Battery Law 6 and 8 (BattG). 12

17 Operatin 2 Operatin 2.1 Instructin Instructins t peratrs are required befre putting the machine int service. Only technicians frm yur lcal authrized Hak dealer are allwed t prvide initial instructin n the machine. The manufacturing plant will ntify the dealer immediately after delivering the vehicle and the dealer will cntact yu t arrange a date. 17

18 Operatin 2.2 Prir t starting up Read the perating instructins cncerning the vehicle prvided in Chapter 1, bserved them and familiarize yurself with the perating prcedures. 1. Check the parking space fr signs f leaks. Hses, lines and tanks must shw n signs f leaks r damage. 2. Check the fuel supply in the transparent tubing (Fig. 3/1), refill if necessary. 3. Check the engine il level with the dipstick (Fig. 3/2), refill if necessary. 4. Check the level f clant in the radiatr (Fig. 3/3), refill if necessary. 5. Check the hydraulic il level in the hydraulic tank (Fig. 3/4), refill if necessary. 6. Check the adjustment f the driver's seat (Fig. 3/5). 7. Check the steering wheel adjustment, readjust with the lever (Fig. 3/ 6), if necessary. 8. Clsed the lcking mechanism, see chapter (nly with weatherprf rf ptin) Fig.3 18

19 Operatin 2.3 Starting the engine Pay attentin t the fllwing infrmatin befre starting the vehicle: Fr safety reasns, the driver's seat is equipped with a seat cntact switch. The engine can nly be started when the peratr is sitting n the driver's seat. The functin f the seat cntact switch must nt be bypassed. The seat cntact switch is mnitred electrnically. Any attempt at manipulatin can lead t the vehicle being autmatically lcked against use. The Sweepmaster may nly be used in ambient temperatures up t 40 C. It shuld nt be started at temperatures <-15 C. At extremely lw temperatures, the hydraulic system requires a few minutes until it reaches perating temperature and can prvide its full pwer utput. Full lads shuld nly be applied t the units n reaching perating temperature. If the start prcedure must be repeated r the engine stalls, it can nly be restarted after the ignitin has been switched ff. A restart blcking system in the ignitin lck prevents restarting when the engine is running. Attempt t start cntinuusly fr max. 20 secnds, allw a shrt pause in between each start prcedure t save the batteries. The start prcedure must be cmpleted after apprx. 1 minute. If the ignitin remains n t lng withut the engine switching n, the start prcedure is interrupted. A service cde appears n the perating hur cunter. Make anther attempt t start the engine after switching the ignitin ff. If the vehicle is verladed, the engine speed drps and the engine is switched ff. The acceleratr must be in the neutral psitin. The psitin f the acceleratr pedal is mnitred. 19

20 Operatin Prcedure t start the diesel engine (nly fr Sweepmaster D): 1. The acceleratrs (Fig. 4/1) must be in their neutral setting. 2. The vehicle's parking brake must be applied (Fig. 4/2). 3. Set the engine speed switch (Fig. 4/ 3) t wrking speed (hare). 4. Turn the ignitin key clckwise t the preheating device icn (Fig. 4/4). Allw t preheat until the cntrl lamp (Fig. 4/A) ges ut (max. 20 secnds). - The perating hur cunter (Fig. 4/ C) displays the sftware versin, pssibly the last diagnstic cde and the perating hurs in successin. The cntrl lamps fr the engine il pressure (Fig. 4/B) and charge cntrl (Fig. 4/D) light up. 5. Turn the ignitin key further t START and start the engine. - The cntrl lamps fr engine il pressure and charge cntrl must g ut after the start prcedure. Fig A B C D 20

21 Operatin Prcedure t start the petrl engine (nly fr Sweepmaster V): 1. The acceleratrs (Fig. 5/1) must be in their neutral setting. 2. The vehicle's parking brake must be applied (Fig. 5/2). 3. Actuate chke (with cld engine nly). 4. Set the engine speed switch (Fig. 5/ 3) t wrking speed (hare). 5. Turn the ignitin key clckwise t the ignitin icn (Fig. 5/4). - The perating hur cunter (Fig. 5/ B) displays the sftware versin, pssibly the last diagnstic cde and the perating hurs in successin. The cntrl lamps fr the engine il pressure (Fig. 5/A) and charge cntrl (Fig. 5/C). 6. 22 Operatin 2.4 Stpping and switching ff the vehicle 1. Mve the acceleratr (Fig. 6/1) slwly t its zer setting. The vehicle slws dwn t a stp. 2. Apply the parking brake (Fig. 6/2) t its end psitin and lck in place. 3. Switch ff the sweeping functins with the buttn (Fig. 6/A). The filter agitating system is activated. 4. Switch ff the engine with the ignitin key (Fig. 6/3). Remve the ignitin key when getting ff the vehicle t prevent unauthrized use A Fig.6 22

23 Operatin 2.5 Sweeping peratin 1. Check the vehicle, refer t Sectin Start the vehicle, refer t Sectin Set the engine speed switch (Fig. 7/ 1) t wrking speed (Hare). 4. Switch n the sweeping functin with the buttn (Fig. 7/A). The rtary brush, side brush and suctin turbine are activated. 5. 24 Operatin Emptying the sweepings cntainer Observe the fllwing safety infrmatin befre emptying: Driving the vehicle with the sweepings cntainer raised reduces the vehicle's stability. Therefre, nly raise the sweepings cntainer immediately prir t emptying it. Only raise the sweepings cntainer when the vehicle is n a hrizntal surface. Befre raising the sweepings cntainer, the peratr must have ensured that there are n persns r bjects behind r beside the vehicle. The vehicle may nly be driven slwly when the sweepings cntainer is raised. It is frbidden fr anyne t mve int the danger area. Risk f crushing and shearing! Befre raising r lwering the sweepings cntainer, ensure that there is a sufficient safety clearance. The sweeping cntainer can nly be tipped when the cntainer has been raised beynd a minimum height. 24

25 Operatin Prcedure t empty the sweepings cntainer: The sweepings cntainer must be emptied at regular intervals. Ensure the maximum fill weight is never exceeded. 1. Sweeping The side brush (Fig. 10/1) sweeps the dirt directly int the pick-up path (Fig. 10/2) f the rtary brush (Fig. 10/2). The rtary brush sweeps the dirt verhead (Fig. 10/3) int the sweeping cntainer (Fig. 10/4). The particulate matter (Fig. 10/5) swirled up is vacuumed up by the suctin turbine (Fig. 10/7) and frced against the filter (Fig. 10/6) which filters it. Buttn fr filter agitatin system (Fig. 11/12) On actuating the switch, the agitating device is switched n and the filter system cleaned. The agitatin prcess takes apprx. 15 secnd. The cntrl lamp in the buttn lights up. During the agitatin prcess, the suctin turbine is autmatically deactivated. If the cntrl lamp in the buttn starts t flash (single acustic warning), the filter is extremely siled and must be agitated clean. 32

39 Operatin Driver's seat The driver's seat (Fig. 22/1) must be adjusted s that the driver is seated cmfrtably and can reach all the perating elements with ease. The seat suspensin can be adapted t the driver's weight (50 kg t 120 kg) using the handwheel (A). The driver's seat is released by means f the lever (B) and can be adjusted in a lngitudinal directin. Fr reasns f safety, the Sweepmaster is equipped with a seat cntact switch. The engine can nly be started when the peratr is sitting n the driver's seat. If the seat cntact is interrupted while the engine is running, the engine is switched ff and the perating hur cunter flashes. Only use the engine il prescribed, refer t Technical Data! 1. Open the seat cnsle, refer t Sectin Pull the il dipstick ut and wipe it with a clean clth. Insert the il dipstick again. 3. Subsequently, change the engine il every 125 perating hurs and the il filter every 250 perating hurs. 1. Remve the drain plug and drain the engine il int the cllecting vessel. 4. Disassemble the il filter (Fig. 23/5) and install a new il filter with a new sealing ring (tighten hand-tight). Only use riginal spare parts! Dispse f the waste il and used il filter accrding t the applicable envirnmental regulatins! 5. Replace and tighten the drain plug. 6. Fill the engine il, see paragraph Changing the fuel filter Change the fuel filters (Fig. 23/6) and (Fig. 23/7) every 250 perating hurs. The fuel filter (Fig. 23/6) is fixed by means f hse clamps and must be changed as a unit. The fuel filter (Fig. 23/7) is nly installed fr diesel engines! 1. Clse the fuel filter valve (Fig. 23/8). 2. Remve the filter cver and change the filter insert. Only use riginal spare parts! Dispse f residual fuel and used filters accrding t the applicable envirnmental regulatins! Venting the fuel system 1. Fill the fuel tank. 2. Use a suitable cllecting vessel and pen the fuel filter valve. 3. Lsen the vent plugs (Fig. 23/9) n the fuel filter and tighten again when n further air bubbles escape. 4. Use a surce f light t check the main filter fr perfratins. 4. Check the seals n the main filter fr signs f damage Installing the main filter 1. Slide the main filter (Fig. 25/5) back in the upper husing sectin, with the pen side first. 2. Replace the husing cver (Fig. 25/ 3), pay attentin t the crrect psitin f the dust discharge valve. 3. Lck the husing cver back in place with the snap-in hks (Fig. 25/3) Changing the main filter The main filter (Fig. 25/4) must be changed in the case f large accumulatins f dirt, damage r every 250 perating hurs at the latest. 1. Disassemble the main filter, see paragraph Insert the new main filter. Only use riginal spare parts! 3. Install the main filter, see paragraph Changing the safety cartridge The safety cartridge (Fig. 25/6) must nt be cleaned nr reused after being disassembled! The safety cartridge must be replaced every 1000 perating hurs at the latest. 1. Disassemble the main filter (Fig. 25/ 4), see paragraph Take hld f the safety cartridge n bth shackles and pull it while turning slightly. 3. Insert a new safety cartridge (Fig. 25/5). Open the seat cnsle, refer t Sectin Clean the radiatr ribs with cmpressed air, blwing frm the engine side utwards Refilling the clant T little clant reduces the cling capacity. Check the clant level daily thrugh the cap and refill as necessary. Only use the clant prescribed, refer t Technical Data. D nt mix with ther types! Befre the winter seasn begins, check the cncentratin f the clant. 1. When the engine has cled dwn, pen the cap (Fig. 26/2) carefully. 2. Check the clant level. The ptimal clant level is achieved when the ribs are cvered. Fill slwly. if necessary. 3. Replace the cap. 4. Allw the engine t run fr a few minutes. 5. Turn the engine ff and allw t cl dwn. 6. Check the clant level again and refill, if necessary. Only refill clant in the radiatr. D nt refill at the resuctin tank (Fig. 26/5)! Changing the clant The clant must be changed every 1000 perating hurs at the latest. 1. Place a suitable cllecting vessel under the radiatr draining hse (Fig. 26/4). 2. Open the draining hse and drain ff the clant fully. Clant quantity, apprx. 3 liters. Dispse f the used clant accrding t the applicable envirnmental regulatins! 3. Clse the draining hse again. 4. Refill fresh clant, refer t Technical Data. 5. Replace the cap. 6. Allw the engine t run fr a few minutes. 7. Turn the engine ff and allw t cl dwn. 8. Fix the plug and clip t the draining hse and refill hydraulic il, see paragraph Start the engine and, when running at a slw speed, put all the wrk functins int peratin and raise and empty the sweepings cntainer several times. Switch the engine ff again 6. Refill mre hydraulic il, if necessary. Check the hydraulic system fr leaks Change hydraulic il filter The hydraulic il filter must be changed fr the first time after 50 perating hurs and subsequently every 500 perating hurs. Take the utmst care when draining ht hydraulic il. Risk f burns! 1. Park the vehicle n a level surface and lwer the sweepings cntainer. Switch the engine ff and apply the parking brake. 2. Unscrew the hydraulic il filter (Fig. 27/4). Dispse f the used hydraulic il filter accrding t envirnmental regulatins! 3. Install a new hydraulic il filter with new sealing rings (tighten handtight). Fit the crank (Fig. 30/8) n the square and adjust the sweeping pattern. - Turn clckwise: smaller sweeping pattern - Cunterclckwise: larger sweeping pattern The value is indicated n the scale (Fig. 30/9) Aligning the rtary brush parallel The rtary brush is set parallel at the factry. If the parallel alignment is n lnger set, please cntact an authrized Hak service center Changing the rtary brush In the case f wear resulting in a bristle length f at least 100 mm, the rtary brush must be changed. The rtary brush can be accessed frm the rear when the sweepings cntainer has been raised and can be disassembled as fllws: 1. Park the vehicle n a level area f flr. 2. Switch ff the sweeping functin. 3. Switch the engine ff and apply the parking brake. 4. Turn the rtary brush by hand until the five screw cnnectins (Fig. 30/ 7) are visible. 5. Lsen the screw cnnectins and remve the rtary brush half (Fig. 30/ 6). 6. Turn the secnd rtary brush half further and pull ut t the rear (the rtary brush is held by clamps). 7. Install the new rtary brush in the reverse sequence. Only use riginal spare parts! 8.
