1 VIKING MOTOR SPEED Series Description Vikg s Motor Speed series ternal gear pumps represent a technological advance the science of flow. Through new techniques of feedg the rotor and idler, Vikg has achieved what was once considered impossible high flow rates operatg at motor speeds. The two largest sizes, Q & QS, operate at reduced speeds, but still faster than other pumps of similar displacement. Higher speeds mean greater value, with the ability to move more fluid with a smaller pump. It also enables close-couplg to a motor or gearmotor, which elimates shaft alignment and results longer seal and bearg life by preventg wear due to misalignment. Because the pump s maximum viscosity at motor speeds is 2,500 SSU (560 cst), it is considered a th liquid pump, for transfer of light oils, refed fuels and chemicals. It has the ability to handle thicker liquids, though, to 25,000 SSU (5,500 cst), providg versatility of application where temperatures or chemical reactions may crease viscosity. This program can be located on NPSH R data is not available on the pump selector. The NPSH R (Net Positive Suction Head Required by the pump) is given the table below and applies for viscosities through 750 SSU.
