9 BIM: Building Information Model(ling) or Management BIM: a digital representation of physical and functional characteristics of a facility/infrastructure. A BIM is a shared knowledge resource for information about the Infrastructure forming a reliable basis for decisions during its life-cycle. 17 Conclusions BIM is not just Modelling but also for Information transfer using open BIM-standards Uniformity of these standards and use can be successful for above and underground Asset data Underground data can be transferred as data, GIS-maps in BIM-3D-model or GIS-3D For RWS the use of 1 method for underground and above Asset data is preferred Private Market Parties and Ministries should guide this development during the next years; also on a European and International level 17 RWS ONGECLASSIFICEERD
