This adjustment must not be changed. Should a readjustment become necessary on the occasion of the test prior to acceptance or acceptance test the competent RTÜ inspector will have to be informed. Re-adjustment must only be carried out by the RTÜ inspector. The enclosed test record (page 10) must be filled in and submitted to QMS. If the safety-gear gives rise to objections during their repetitive main tests acc. to 10 of the lift directive using the test system ADIAS recommened by DAA the deceleration value measured by means of Adias will be stated by the TÜV inspector in the test record. The erector will then have to fill in the test sheet MA6 6071/001 page 10 - "test record " completely in the presence of the TÜV inspector (for determining stopping distance + braking distance see pages 3 to 6 ) and sent it to QMS. QMS will check the technical data and informs the competent RTÜ inspector about the re-adjustment of the jaws, if necessary. The RTÜ inspector should be present during re-checking of the TÜV. Definitions for TÜV - tests based on ADIASYSTEM and ASIS In accordance with the lift directive testing of progressive safety gears for a speed range between 1 m/s and 2 m/s acc. to the systems mentioned above is equivalent to testing acc. to TRA 102 No The manufacturer Thyssen Aufzugswerke determined the following values for < 1m/s and > 2m/s: 1. Tests of safety-gears with operating speed > 2m\s and without load are not permissible for reasons of the bouncing counterweight. The risk that in the course of repetitive tests the arising slack rope interlocks on constructive elements in the well and consequently causes consequential damages is high. 2. Tests of safety gears with operating speed < 1m/s and without load are permissible. As a rule, these conditions would entail that the mechanical safety gear operation cannot be activated and, consequently, no definite statement about the braking force in the case of free fall could be made. By no means must the safety gear be re-adjusted so that the deceleration will be smoother. If the stopping distances exceed our pre-set values the safety gear must be re-adjusted so that the deceleration will be harder. Attention! Stopping distance S(stop) with two roller marks: S (stop) = X + 25 mm X Pattern of roller engagement Rail Case 2 If the stopping distance is so small that only one coherent pattern of roller engagement is produced, the braking distance will be twice as long as the pattern of roller engagement, for the car moves hroughout a distance which is twice as long as that of the transport roller (see drawing) minus 25. Stopping distance S(brake) with two roller marks: S (brake) = X + 50 mm X Pattern of roller engagement Rail Case 2 If the braking distance is so small that only one coherent pattern of roller engagement is produced, the braking distance will be twice as long as the pattern of roller engagement, for the car moves throughout a distance which is twice as long as that of the transport roller (see drawing).
