6 ANNUAL REPORT In Quest of Excellence... Esteemed fellow Members of UCCI, I feel honoured for this opportunity bestowed on me to place UCCI's Annual Report ; and I thank you all for allowing me to share my thoughts. I must begin by saying that I have been privileged and felt honoured to be the President of this prestigious Chamber in the Golden Jubilee Year. What began as a small idea 50 years back is now a phenomenal institution that has been nurtured by its visionary Founders, Past Presidents & their teams and esteemed Members. I feel gratified to be a part of UCCI's historic journey with the captains of industries, trade and enterprise of Southern Rajasthan who drive the region's growth amidst global uncertainty and economic slowdown. During the year under review, UCCI celebrated the Golden Jubilee year until its culmination which were graced through various activities and programmes including Workshops, Seminars, Interactive Meetings, Industrial Tours besides Golden Jubilee Lecture Series for our members with the involvement of evangelists like Industry icons, senior government bureaucrats & officials, judicial stalwarts, motivational gurus, Banking & financial experts, and health & wellbeing specialists of international repute by sharing their experience & vision for the economic development of the region. These events have been chronicled in Year At A Glance of this Annual Report. A clarion call by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India for 'Make in India' seems to have energised the nation, especially the business and enterprise. As the world moves towards an Era of Unlimited Possibilities, I envisage massive potential for quantumleap with rigorous and effective implementation of initiatives like Make in India, Startup India, Digital India etc. My team and myself wholeheartedly worked on repositioning UCCI from being an impactful enabler of business to a strategic transformationalpartner that could lead industrial development in the region and achieving the objectives of 'Make in India'. This remained a significant factor in UCCI's radar during the year. UCCI envisages Think Global, Act Local as key driver to region's growth and therefore diversity and inclusion as the focus. Expanding partnerships in existing markets and building opportunities in new markets is a key priority. In sync with such impactful credibilities as also emphasised in Resurgent Rajasthan campaign of the State Government, UCCI organised series of workshops like German Work Culture & Transformational Opportunities addressed by globally renowned Technical Consultant Mr. Reinhard Klemm; Business Opportunities in Canada with High Commissioner of Canada and seminar organised jointly with EEPC INDIA on Niriyat Bandhu Scheme UCCI also promoted Membership Engagement an initiative to work closely with member organisations, encouraging them to share best practices and experiences and mentor smaller organisations that are still on the learning curve. Recognising that the expectations of its member organisations are growing, UCCI with its strong rapport and local connect conducted Industrial Tours to worldclass facilities like Secure Meters Ltd. (Kaladvas) and JK Tyre & Industries Ltd. (Kankroli). Recently, in April 2016, UCCI in support from MSMS Ministry, Govt. of India; organised a 24member delegation's visit to Hannover Messe, Germany and Volkswagen's manufacturing unit in Wolfsburg; equipped with highly advanced industrial infrastructure and facility. Today, different industries attract different skillsets and talent. UCCI focused on capacity building for the industry and developing talent that is relevant and closer to the region's requirements. UCCI also partnered with the academia to create specific programmes and awards that encourage innovation, best practices and skill development initiatives amongst students and youth fraternity. A Debate Competition was organised jointly with Indian Institute of Materials Management.

7 ANNUAL REPORT rd In the 3 phase of UCCI's Capacity Building Programme, UCCI created a modern, interactive and futuristic infrastructure which includes the th PyrotechTempsens Hall that was inaugurated on 19 September, 2015 by Sh. Akhilesh Joshi, CEO Vedanta Hindustan Zinc Group and Sh. B. P. Jain, Chief Commissioner, Income Tax. With enthusiastic participation of Past Presidents, UCCI Members, Executive Committee Members & Office bearers and guidance by Golden Jubilee Programme Committee, the celebrations were quite delegently organised and appreciated by one and all. I am personally obliged to the invaluable support of Sh. Salil Singhal and Sh. Ramesh Choudhary leading the Golden Jubilee Programme Committee. To symbolise the UCCI's rich heritage and journey, an initiative was taken up to document the history and th its memorable journey of 50 years. On 12 Feb, 2016 unveiling of the memorabilia, Glorious 50 publication was marked by Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Hon'ble Home Minister, as the Chief Guest. The occasion was graced by luminaries and dignitaries like Pujya Sadhu Shri Gnanvatsaldas, Guru Pramukh Swami Maharaj of Swaminarayan Sansthan and Shri Sunil Duggal, CEO, VedantaHindustan Zinc as key note speakers. On this momentous occasion, UCCI also initiated a concept of conferring the Lifetime Achievement Award, which in its inaugural edition was given in the honour of the UCCI Founder, Late Sh. P.P. Singhal and was received by the members of the Singhal family. Working together as a team in coordinated action, UCCI members had a share of fun by organising Diwali th Sneh Milan and cultural evening on 7 Nov, 2015, celebration of Independence Day and Republic day were also organised as culture & tradition of UCCI. It is truly gratifying to have completed the agenda for the year gone by, and yet this would not have been possible without the support and efforts of office bearers and the every member of the Executive Committee, who worked with me during the course of the year, and I thank them from the core of my heart. I would specially like to place on record a word of appreciation for Sh. Jatin Nagori, Hony. Secretary General, Sh. Hansraj Choudhary, Sr. Vice President, Sh. Ashish Chhabra, Vice President and Sh. C. S. Rathore, Treasurer for their relentless support & cooperation all through the year. I would also like to extend my gratitude to M/s. Deopura & Associates for their kind support in financial matters and accounting discipline of the Chamber. I also thank the Secretariat staff led by Shri Deepak Thakur, Executive Officer, for their diligent efforts and sincere work ethics during my tenure. 8 ANNUAL REPORT ABOUT UCCI UCCI was founded on Feb. 12, 1965 and nurtured in its formative years, under the strong hands of Founder President, Shri P.P. Singhal. UCCI, a multisectoral Chamber, completes 50 years of its role as a catalyst in the economic development of Southern Rajasthan encompassing Trade, Industry, Mining, Tourism, Education and all sectors of Commerce. UCCI is accredited with ISO 9001, & certifications, and representing an investment of around crores of rupees. Its membership comprises various Associations and over 450 direct members, with mega corporate and the smallest of micro and small enterprises, providing representation to over 3000 enterprises, across the districts of Banswara, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Sirohi & Udaipur. UCCI is affiliated with FICCI, CII, PHDCCI, FIMI, CAIT and other leading organizations of the country. It has established itself as the voice of the region's Trade & Industry at the National and State level. UCCI actively engages with the Government to facilitate policy Formulation & Infrastructure Development to identify and iron out policy bottlenecks for the ease in conduct of business. It holds Workshops & Seminars towards Development of businesses, Government policies and facilitating Personality Development of individual entrepreneurs for the development of future business leadership. UCCI also provides various associated services viz. Certificate of Origin, Attestation of Documents, Visa Recommendation, Registration of Industries for Hazardous Waste Disposal Facility, a platform for resolution of issues with Government Departments, including Monthly Camps with the Officers. UCCI has maintained its cooperation with ZDH & Sequa, German Business, Trade & Crafts Organizations to augment the capacity and increase the membership of the Chamber, over the past four years. Environment has been a focus area of this Chamber. UCCI promoted the Hazardous Waste Management Facility at Gudli set up with an outlay of Rs. 12 crores and monitors it on an ongoing basis. This facility is a major contribution towards conservation of the environment and facilitates disposal of Hazardous Waste of over 850 Industries across all the districts of Rajasthan. Besides, UCCI has also developed the Green Bridge Technology for treatment of Waste water over the Ahar River. Soon, UCCI shall be developing a CETP for Kaladwas Industrial Area with an investment of Rs. 40 cr. We also have intension to develop a disposal facility for BioMedical waste and collection centre for Ewaste (Industrial & Domestic). In the years to come, UCCIs Vision is to develop Udaipur as a hub for skill development in South Rajasthan and promote the Region as an investment destination with Business Prospects in Heritage. Nature and Health, Tourism, Mining, Education, Information & Hardware Technology and Pharmaceuticals. We shall also play an active role in channelizing and supporting the CSR activities of our corporate members for the development of the Region. Infrastructure UCCI premises are spread over approx 1,50,000 sft. of land having nearly sft of constructed building area with several well equipped meeting and conference Halls. Facilities

35 ANNUAL REPORT GOLDEN JUBILEE YEAR GOLDEN JUBILEE LECTURE SERIES In the 1950s when private initiative was hard to come by, and was considered very courageous, our Founder President, Late Shri P P Singhal, ventured and led the industrialization in the Udaipur Region and founded the PI group. In 1965, he began laying the foundations of our Chamber. With the inception of UCCI in 1965, it culminated into a Golden Jubilee Chamber in February, 2015, and we decided to celebrate Golden Jubilee Year. Being supported by our esteemed members, we could chalk out various activities and programmes including organizing Golden Jubilee Lecture Series for our members with the involvement of evangelists like industry icons, senior government officials, judicial stalwards, motivational gurus, bankers & professionals and health & wellbeing specialists of international repute by sharing their experience & Vision. While in our above endeavour of Golden Jubilee Lecture Series, the first two such Lectures by Shri Sunil Kant Munjal, Jt. Shri S.S.Kothari, Hon ble Lokayukta, Rajasthan in his keynote address stated that Due to importance of wealth, persons accumulating money through corrupt means are getting recognizition in the society, and this is a major cause of increase in the corruption in the country Corruption can not be withheld by making law. People should also have enough courage to bycot such persons in the society who earn money by way of corrupt means. B. P. Jain CCIT, Udaipur Zone Shri B.P. Jain, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax said that India was probably the only bright spot in the present gloomy world economic situation. He exhorted that as a good citizen, each one of us should pay our income tax dues on time, so as to contribute to nation building. He was appreciative of the cordial relations of the IT Deptt. officials with the tax payers and informed that government has taken lot many measures to simplify taxation administration and bring mutual trust between the assessees and the department. He suggested that blended potland cement should be used by cement industry, as the limestone reserve in the country is fast depleting. Therefore, government should give more thrust on development of newer national highways and automobile industry should introduce bigger capacity latest trucks/dumpers for smoother transportation of cement. S. Munot CMD, Bank of Maharashtra Shri S. Munot, CMD, Bank of Maharashtra in his Golden Jubilee Lecture Series on MSME th Financing organized at UCCI on 16 November, 2015 stated that production & manufacturing sectors of industry should be given extra importance & priority to achieve GDP. He suggested entrepreneurs to draw a project report keeping in view the market & circumstantial position of industry as may prevail in next five years. The entrepreneurs should also analyze the need of the financial resources based on such project report. Shri Munot also suggested that with the expansion of enterprise, the entrepreneurs should simultaneously upgrade their technology, bring diversification in their products and invest their capital in other alternative industries also.

37 ANNUAL REPORT Babu Babel President, IEEMA During Golden Jubilee Lecture Series on Challenges in Building Exports & Indian Brand at th UCCI on 30 December, 2015, Shri Babu Babel, President, IEEMA said that to enhance exports & make Indian brand, we should have a clear strategy for exports and need to understand the basic challenges therefor through SWOT. These financial statements are the responsibility of the management of the Chamber. Our responsibility is to express an opinion on these financial statements based on our audit. 2 We conducted our Audit in accordance with the auditing standards generally accepted in India. Those Standards require that we plan and perform the audit to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements are free of material misstatement. An audit includes examining, on a test basis, evidence supporting the amounts and disclosures in the financial statements. An Audit also includes assessing the accounting principles used and significant estimates made by management, as well as evaluating the overall financial statement presentation. The Mercantile method of accounting has been followed and Income and Expenditure are recognized on accrual basis. 2. (a) Fixed assets are carried at cost of acquisition less depreciation till the year ending. Depreciation is provided on the written down value of the assets in accordance with the Income Tax Act, No depreciation has been provided on Environment Park being total cost pertains for land filling, landscaping and development. (b) Building renovation phase2 construction have been completed and capitalized being put to use during the year. 3. As per the Minutes of the Executive Committee Meeting, following accounting adjustments have been provided: a) Expenses incurred Rs.2,300/by UIWM&RC under HWM project development borne by UCCI and set off from the balance Rs.45,966/held with the UIWM&RC. b) Out of the surplus of the year, Rs.3.00 lacs and Rs.1.00 lac have been appropriated towards new HWM Projects comprising ewaste and bio medical waste management facility, installation of incinerator and CETP and Building & infrastructure maintenance fund respectively. c) UCCIAhar River Project Fund receipts and expenditures have been merged with the Chamber's receipts and expenditures during the year also. d) Building renovation phase2 construction have been completed and capitalized Rs.41,22,548/being put to use during the year. 4. Amounts received for specific purposes have been duly credited to their respective reserve fund account B. ACCOUNTING NOTES 1. Financial figures have been rounded off to the nearest rupee. 2. Previous year's figures have been regrouped/rearranged wherever necessary. 3. Income and Expenditure have been netted wherever necessitated in the Income & Expenditure account except income from news letter & bulletin, workshop and seminar as these have been shown separately. 4. Provision for Taxation has not been made in view of the exemption available u/s 11 of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
