Lekov, a.s. manufactures electromechanical instruments that work reliably in the majority of locomotives, trams, trolleybuses and metro cars made around the world. In addition to the company's main local client, Skoda Transportation, Lekov is a supplier to most of the world's major railway vehicle manufacturers. Its customers include Bombardier Transportation, headquartered in Canada, as well as numerous manufacturing facilities in a number of countries throughout Europe next are the French company Alstom Transportation and Siemens in Germany. Locomotive manufacturer General Electric is the largest client in the United States. The company's major Asian clients include Mitsubishi Electric in Japan and Hunday Rotem in South Korea. Lekov is an export-orientated company, with overseas sales accounting for 62% of its overall sales volume. The most significant projects the company is currently involved with include the New York City Subway, the London Underground, the Delhi Metro, supplies for three new system locomotives for Czech Rail (manufactured by Skoda Transportation) and supplies for the suburban NAT multiple unit line (France). The company's products have also won a major place on the high-speed railway vehicle market. Over the past year, Lekov has received orders to supply components for highspeed trains in France, Germany and Italy. The company's entrance on the Russian market, where the company secured a major order to supply locomotive pantographs, was also an important event. In 2002 Lekov became a part of the French industrial group Faiveley Transport, one of the world's key players on the market for supplies to railway vehicle manufacturers. Over the course of , pantograph development and manufacturing knowhow was transferred within the industrial group from France to the Czech Republic, turning Lekov into a pantograph development and manufacturing centre. The company's main manufacturing site is located in Blovice, Pilsen Region, where 260 employees worked last year. LEKOV owns subsidiaries in Russia (St Petersburg) and the United States (Greenville, South Carolina). 2
