CHKPZ today is a successful, fastdeveloping company with annually growing sales volumes and deliveries geography, range of products and number of constant and reliable partners. Implementation of innovative production technologies, modernization of machinery, personnel development allows the company to manufacture goods which correspond to international requirements and deliver them just-in-time. Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant is favorably located from geographical and economical point of view. Ural federal district together with Chelyabinsk region is an industrial center of Russian Federation. Such location determines low cost of fuel and power supplies. The main manufacturers of metal, working in accordance with ISO/ TS 699 requirements are allocated in this region. The region has a vast potential of employees and high-skilled engineers. Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant specializes in manufacturing of forgings, hot-stamped parts, cold sheet-metal stampings, machined parts, steel stamped wheels and special purpose vehicles. More than 00 forgings and cold sheet-metal stampings, 00 machined parts, 90 types of wheels and 00 modifications of special purpose vehicles are batch-produced. CHKPZ takes into production more than 00 items of new products annually. Wide range of products allows CHKPZ to cover different market segments. The main distribution markets both in Russia and abroad are automotive industry, railway and oil and gas industry.

4 Production capacities Forge production: Production area: м Number of employees: as per 0..0 Equipment: production lines with crank hot-forging presses of 600 to 600 ton-force including induction heaters; production lines with horizontal forging machines of 60 to 0 ton-force including induction heaters; production lines with air-and-steam dieforging hummers up to 0 tons including induction heaters; production lines with 0 ton-force hammers; flow forming machines of 00 ton-force; full production complex for heat treatment and surface cleaning; open forging hammer of ton-force with manipulator up to ton. Technological processes: Existing equipment allows employing all main technologies used in forging process. To achieve maximum metal recovery Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant uses the following technological processes: preliminary rolling operation before forging; flashless forging; rings rolling. Technologies which secure stable quality of products and process control: control of every charge; implementation of high-precision CNC disk saws, working in automatic mode; heating temperature control in induction heaters; exclusion of overheated or underheated parts out of production process; automatic control of heat-treatment process; -checking and quantitative control in all production areas. Control and measurements technologies: quick chemical analysis of incoming materials; control of products and tooling dimensions using D measuring equipment; nondestructive testing - ultrasound inspection for checking of internal defects, fluorescent control for checking surface defects for different types of products; dye penetrant inspection for large-dimensioned parts.

5 Production capacities Dies and tooling production Production area: 007 м Number of employees: as per 0..0 Equipment: Machinery include more than 0 units of domestic and foreign equipment including CNC machining centers, milling, turning, grinding machines, wire-cutting machines and electrical discharge machines (EDM) including wire-cutting machine Sodick and band-saws Pegas. In-house production of dies permits to effectively organize preproduction of any type of product. Tooling production is carried out in accordance with all modern technologies on CNC machines. One of them is -axis high-speed CNC machining center Roeders, as well as Haas and Arics. Combining up-to-date machining technologies CNC machining center Roeders provides high precision and machining speed of D surfaces of any complexity. Face-up welding complex for dies renewal allows increasing lifetime of the die and reducing production cost due to economy of metal. Wire-cutting machine Sodick allows processing of any electrically conductive materials. Technological processes: There are main technological processes used for dies production. They are: electrical discharge method using graphite electrodes with further machining; processing method using mathematic models. Tooling renewal is done using main methods. They are: cutting of used die cavity and manufacturing of a new one; face-up welding of used die cavity on welding complex Forge Weld and manufacturing of a new one. Permits to increase tooling operating life. Machining shop Production area: 0 9 м Number of employees: as per 0..0 Equipment: The shop has high-speed CNC machining centers Hyundai-Kia and VICTOR Taichung used for: Turning operations of parts up to 60 mm; Milling operations with operating area dimensions 07х880х87 mm. Being manufacturer of forgings as well as machined parts CHKPZ manufactures high quality products with low production cost. Equipment for machining is located in such a manner so that one operator could work on several machines thus increasing economic effect. Besides, Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant has a number of universal machines which are used for processing of largedimensioned parts and allow performing the following operations: turning, tooth cutting, milling, drilling, grinding and shaping operations.

The production of CHKPZ is certified according to ISO 900, TS 699 and ISO 00 requirements. Conformity to these standarts allows the company to provide the best quality of manufactured goods and to increase satisfaction of customers as well as company workers. Quality Management System is based on implementation of lean production and Kaizen. Experts from Japan, the USA and Russia, our suppliers and customers participate in implementation of these systems. The personnel takes an active part in these processes. Deliveries concept Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant deliveries concept is based on 7 main principles:. To provide quality of products in accordance with TS 699 requirements and PPM less than 00.. To deliver to the customer all necessary products which can be manufactured by CHKPZ or by its strategic partners.. To secure just-in-time deliveries from CHKPZ warehouses or from its consignment stocks on customer s territory.. To ship not only forged parts but finished components and assembly units.. 7 Quality Production system development The basis of CHKPZ production system development is the experience of the leading enterprises generated in lean production concept. By involving the personnel in continuous improvement process we strive for allaround losses elimination which will result in rise of products quality, reduction of costs and just-in-time fulfillment of customers orders. The company has implemented more than 000 improvements starting from small ones initiated by kaisen suggestions to rearrangement of production areas. Taking into account Chelyabinsk Forgeand-Press Plant willingness to develop production system much attention is paid to personnel training. CHKPZ has a standardized system of recruitment. Education and training of new employees and skills development is done on the regular basis. Apart from basic subjects modern management technologies like lean production and Kaizen are studied. The company has developed system of fabrication of training movies. Use of these movies will help to more effectively extend accumulated experience and necessary knowledge among company s personnel. Since 008 such project as Learning by Doing has been started. Participation in such projects allows employees to obtain information about main tools of lean production and team work, acquire practical skills by implementation of these principles in daily work thus conducting real improvements which give positive economic effect to the company. Project approach is used for solving management tasks on CHKPZ. Annually main projects on increase of turns, productivity, effectiveness of sales, reduction of losses on power and fuel supplies, repairs and others are realized on Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant. The work on projects is done in teams consisting of managers, specialists and engineering personnel. Our partners and suppliers take an active part in these projects. 7
