Perth Avenue, UK Mike Lenahan Bulletin Information: Due to the failure of the production tooling which manufactures the laminations for the M57 Armatures, armatures for the above mentioned products are no longer available from Spennymoor. In addition, the Field for the KS227 & KS840 Type 1A up to date code DC18-98 can no longer be manufactured also due to tooling failure. For markets to continue service support for these products it is necessary to upgrade them to the next production type. This upgrade can be carried out as follows. KS227 and KS840 TYPE 1: When repairing Armatures (item 101), it is necessary to replace the armature (101), field (102) and the housing (115) with TYPE 1A from DC18-98 components. KS227 and KS840 TYPE 1A upto DC18-98: When replacing Fields (item 102), it is necessary to replace the field (102) and the housing (115) with TYPE 1A from DC18-98 components.

3 KW750 TYPE 2: When repairing Armatures (item 101), it is necessary to replace the armature (101), field (102) and the clamshell (103) with TYPE 2A components. Due to the high cost nature of these upgrades, it is up to the discretion of each market to decide whether to repair or exchange units requiring these components. For further details please refer to the Service drawings, Parts lists and repair instructions attached.

Remove the coverplate carefully. Always ensure that the riving knife is correctly fitted, with no more than 5 mm clearance to the sawblade and the tip lagging behind by no more than 2 mm; refer to the service drawing. 16 R10046 KW750 Planer Item Tamperproof Screw Comments To open the clamshell remove the base plate and front shoe. To remove the front shoe unclip the top of the knob, pull out the pins and undo the screw. The pulley on the armature shaft has a left handed thread. The pulley of the blade drum shaft is pressed on. KW750 Type 2 (M57) Armature is now no longer available, Type 2A armature can be used as an alternative ONLY if the Field (102) and Clamshell (103) are also replaced with type 2A parts.
