49 MARKET / REGULATION 49

50 Dispatching Regulation Models Functionalities supported by storage Centralized Dispatching (TSO) The dispatching of all DG is made by the TSO under its responsibility. The DG (eventually Defined eligible by size) participates to the actual market schemes tendering ancillary services on day-ahead market. Eventually the offering could be made by Aggregators. Primary Reserve Secondary and Tertiary Power Reserve Blackstart of electrical network Local Dispatching (DSO) The dispatching of DG connected to the distribution network is made by the DSO. The DG participates to a local market, managed by the DSO, tendering ancillary services on a local scale. The DSO verifies the compatibility of the offerings with the network constraints and participates to the day-ahead global market of ancillary services managed by the TSO in competition with other companies. Voltage Regulation (through active power reduction) Intentional islanding Predictable load profile at TSO/DSO Border The dispatching is managed in a centralized way by the TSO, involving only the generators connected in HV. The DSO is responsible to keep a predefined TSO/DSO exchange load/generation profile at HV/MV interface (e.g. HV/MV substation) acting both on generation side (ancillary services) or load side (e.g. demand response, load shedding). This will require the provisioning of services from DG and distribution loads to be negotiated locally in a market or at fixed price. Congestion relief Balancing Voltage regulation (absorbtion/release of reactive power) Demand response services and load shedding 50
