3 AREA D ANNUAL EXERCISE Wednesday September 27, 2017 Oil Spill Containment & Recovery in a Large River Location: At the mouth of the Lesser Slave River (water intake) MAP Parking space will be indicated; please carpool Visit Coop Exercise Training Page for information about other WCSS coop exercises Coop Exercise Attendee Responsibilities: 1. Sign-in; this will be used as acknowledgement of the safety briefing delivered by the WCSS instructor. 2. Utilize appropriate forms to report injuries, incidents, accidents or near misses (provided by WCSS Rep). 3. Contribute to hazard assessment. 4. Actively participate in hands-on training. 5. Observe safe conduct at all times. 6. Incident Commander fully supported by the WCSS Instructor Safety Officer ideally a volunteer who currently works in a Safety Advisory or similar role Boom Captain & Crew up to 10 Skimmer Captain & Crew up to 6 Pump Captain & Crew up to 6 Shoreline Crew up to 15 Boat Crews up to 6 Other positions as required up 20
5 DEBRIEFING EQUIPMENT DEPLOYMENT Safety: What safety issues were not identified and could be managed more effectively? -Flagging for pins Equipment Deployment: How could we have improved the equipment deployment portion of the exercise? -Communication Equipment Deficiencies: What equipment deficiencies did you see? -- Communications: How can we improve communications? (i.e. was the sound acceptable? Were directions clear?) -Generator made it hard to hear even with the PA system.
