Verfication of road test normality Parameter Analysis TF Normalisation
Indicators to be analysed with existing PEMS trips and other driving data Following parameters are yet identified for the analysis: Velocity (v) Positive acceleration (a pos ) Percent idling time on total time Number of idling events above 90 seconds duration v * a pos RPA D P 3s Road gradient Positive altitude change per km GSI-follow rate ( section 6.2.3) In the analysis each parameter shall be calculated l per total t trip and also for urban, road and motorway part of each trip. Road categories are per default <60km/h, km/h and >90 km/h. If map based allocation is available, this is preferred. For all parameters following values shall be calculated for the trip segments listed in a) if not a different unit is defined below: average 50% percentile 95% percentile
Acceleration / Dynamics: P95%(v*a pos ) ACEA-analysis : Indicator: P95% (v*a pos ) Calculation-rules: smoothing v-signal by using T4253H-Algorithm a pos > 0,1m/s² a=dv/2s, dv= (v i+1 -v i-1 ) Analysis of following trips and other data: WLTC and WLTC-Database TUG Trips JRC Trips ACEA-Round-Robin-Trips HBEFA database Version 1 categorisation urban/rural/motorway: by map
Acceleration / Dynamics: P95%(v*a pos ) Analysis of WLTC and WLTC-Database P95%(v*a pos ) of WLTP-Database in speed-classes P95%(v*a pos) ) of WLTC Increasing values for P95%(v*a pos ) for higher average speed Source: WLTP-Database

Road grade Database: EU28 road grade distribution weighted by mileage per country ACEA-analysis: Cumulative share of distance driven 100% 80% EU28 road grade distribution e.g.total trip Determine Calculation-rules for grade evaluation depending on the source used (GPS, ) 1.) Smoothing z-signal by using [ ]-Algorithm 2)categorisation 2.) urban/rural/motorway: by map 3.). 60% Area of valid tests 40% Road test grade normality can be sufficiently characterised by 4 points 20% 1.) 25% percentile of distance < [ ] % 1 2.) 75% percentile of distance < [ ] % 1 0% 2.) 95% percentile of distance <[ [ ]% ) max. road grade < [ ]% Road grade [%] 1 ) Alternative method : cumulated altitude difference Source: Daimler, Navtech, Hucho-Aerodynamik des Automobils
Shifting (for manual gearbox) General requirements Unusual gear shifting should be excluded. [evaluation to elaborated based on GSI & WLTP?] ACEA-analysis: 0,8 2 types of experiments A) Follow GSI 0,6 B) Ignore GSI Cumulative share of time driven 1,2 Follow GSI (n=13) Ignore GSI (n=4) 1 0,4 Area of valid tests Determine Calculation-rules for Shifting evaluation 1.) compare actual with desired d gear 2.) exclude idling, pushed clutch 3.) analog description for automatic vehicles Road test shifting normality can be sufficiently characterised by 1 value 1.) follow rate [ ]% 0, GSI follow rate [%] Source: BMW
