1 Press Release Oerlikon Graziano and Oerlikon Fairfield at BAUMA CHINA (Shanghai) November 2008 Oerlikon Graziano and Oerlikon Fairfield consolidate their presence in the Chinese Market Shanghai (China), November 25, 2008 Oerlikon Graziano and Oerlikon Fairfield, both part of the Drive Systems Segment, will attend the next Bauma China exhibition in Shanghai, as Global Drive Systems Solution Provider through their technical capabilities and worldwide manufacturing presence. Oerlikon Drive Systems, located in Europe (Italy, UK, Czech Republic and Russia), North America (Indiana and Georgia) and Asia (China and India), is ongoing its program in the new countries supporting the Customers everywhere. Both companies have historic pedigree in all mobility markets with over 90 years experience in the market place. Manufacturing and sales & marketing force in China Our thrust to establish a manufacturing presence in China some years ago as well as strengthen our sales & marketing forces, with an operative office in Shanghai, is starting to bear fruits. Suzhou operation: the plant, built in 2005, is located in the Suzhou Industrial Area (SIP) (Jiangsu Province) in the Saurer China Technology (SCN) complex on sqm total area of which dedicated to Oerlikon Graziano specialized in transmission and transaxle for forklift trucks. Within the end of this year, Oerlikon Graziano will be increased of an additional 2000 sqm to launch the production of the new transmission generation for forklift trucks and the Torque Hub series for hydrostatic powertrain for road construction/rehabilitation as well as construction equipment. Sales & Marketing forces: the office opened in the 2005 was originally occupied by the Chief Country Representative, today the office has been relocated to a new Shanghai location to accommodate the increased staff which now in addition to the Sales includes Application Engineering, Customer Service and Global Sourcing both for Oerlikon Fairfield and Oerlikon Graziano.

Products on display Oerlikon Graziano will display: the PR 24 axle for wheeled loaders. This axle with wet disk brakes (WDB) is one of the biggest in our range, which also include the PR10, 12 and 15, while the PR25 and PR30 are under development. By these axles we are answering to the market needs from 10 up to over 30 tons operating weight machines. These axles are equipped with a patented pump oil circulation integrated into the differential which is providing the Customer with a very reliable product, with high efficient cooling of the brake disks. The driveline for forklift trucks. It consists of a front axle with wet disk brake (WDB) together with a 2-speed power-shift transmission. This innovative axle, developed for forklift applications is marketable in the range of 4 up to 6 tons lifting capacity. In our axle range there is also available the more simple version with drum disk brakes, suitable for 3.5 up to 8 tons lifting capacity, for both IC and Electrical FLT. While, our 2-speeds F/R power-shift transmission, specifically designed for industrial applications suitable for FLT applications from 4 to 8 tons lifting capacity, is very reliable for Ground Support Equipment (GSE) applications as well up to N drawbar pull or up to 40 Kph max speed.

Oerlikon Graziano have a worldwide reputation for the manufacture of crown wheel and pinion sets used in the most technical challenging or complex agricultural, construction equipment and specialist automotive applications, applying all the technologies available on the market today. Gleason coniflex and Gleason Revacyle methods are used for straight bevel gears, while Gleason, Oerlikon and Klingelnberg systems are used for spiral bevel and hypoid bevel sets. Dry cutting on Gleason Phoenix machines as well as hard turning techniques are all utilised in production. Lapping and grinding are used to finish parts when requested (UMC is available and applied on critical ratios whether low noise emission is required).
