2 1 Introduction Dordi Khola Hydropower Project is a Run-of-River type hydroelectric project with generating capacity of 27 MW in Lamjung. The project is being developed by Himalayan Power Partner Ltd. (HPPL) Kathmandu, Nepal. HPPL is promoted by IME Group and later joined by NRN Investment Ltd. with equity sharing in 49:51 ratio. 2 Project Development Milestones Survey License Issued : 26 May 2005 Feasibility Study Completed : December 2012 Grid Connection Agreement : 7 July 2010 IEE Approved : 4 October 2010 Generation License Obtained : 7 July 2011 PPA Signed : 15 June 2012 Detailed Project Report Completed : August 2013 Facility Agreement Signed : 7 November 2013 Construction Works Started : April 2014 Required Commercial Operation Date (RCOD) : 15 June Project Description 3.1 Location and Access The whole project area lies in Chiti, Dhodeni and Bansar VDCs in Lamjung district in western Nepal. It is connected from Kathmandu by 170 km all weather metallic roads. 1

8 4 Progress 4.1 Financial Progress The financial progress will be provided after every quarterly consortium meeting with the banks. 4.2 Physical Progress Access track opening from headworks to inlet portal area is already completed. A track to outlet portal has also been opened. Access to the powerhouse site at Ramchowk Phant is also completed. For running the construction vehicles upgrade is needed at some places. For storing the explosives at Udipur, an existing bunker is being renovation and in the state of almost completed. A license for importing the explosives has already been acquired from the Indian Embassy and already placed a partial order so that the company which are providing the explosive can make export license. After then the LC will be opened for importing the explosives. For present use, necessary amount of explosive will be borrowed from Sino Hydro. The steel sheets for the hydro-mechanical works have already reached at the Birgunj boarder. Payment for the received steel plates have already made through the LC from NABIL Bank Ltd. Due to the everyday strikes in Birgunj, the steel sheets are stored in Birgunj. Once the custom will be cleared by us, they will be handed over to the contractor for transportation, fabrication and erection. A staff quarter at the headworks area has completed and now a guest house and an office building at the powerhouse site is being constructed. The slope stabilization work, benching, shotcreting, anchor bolting at the inlet portal has completed. Portal preparation is also completed. A final survey, traversing is doing before executing the first blast. Due to the earthquake and rainy season the major civil works of both the contract packages could not initiate smoothly. Now, Entura team is coming to Nepal for site setup, to prepare quality control procedures/ methodology for smooth supervision of the construction works. Immediate after this rainy season the construction works will go smoothly in full fledge. 7
