Introduction The purpose of this report is to calculate the emission reductions and sustainable developments achieved by Gansu Nanyangshan 1.26MW Hydropower Project, China (Gold Standard ID 547) during the monitoring and crediting period covered by this report, and to serve as basis for the verification and issuance of corresponding VGS credits. 1.1 Monitoring and Crediting Period 01/01/ /12/ Document Reference Version: 2.0 Date: June 20, General description of the project Gansu Nanyangshan 1.26MW Hydropower Project (hereafter referred to as the Project ) developed by Nanyang Water Conservancy and Hydropower Development Co., Ltd in Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture involves the construction and operation of a run-of-the-river hydropower station at the location of Hezheng County, Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province. Annual net electricity generation is at 3,479 and 4,632 in 2010 and 2011, respectively. Electricity generated by the project will be transmitted to Northwest China Power Grid (NWCPG). The project activity contributes to Sustainable Development through the reduction of GHG emissions and other pollutants associated with the standard practice of fossil fuel fired power plants in the region. The project activity also contributes to alleviation of power shortages by providing a stable power supply, promotion of the local economy and improvement of livelihoods by creating local jobs, and increasing access to energy services for local residents. The project activity started construction in May 2006 and the hydropower plant has been generating electricity since June The start date of the first crediting period is defined as Jan. 1, The chosen crediting period is 7 years. The project operation is in line with the PDD and no change occurs during the 2 nd monitoring period. The annual amount of emission reductions is 3,031 tonnes CO2e and 4,035 tonnes CO2e in 2010 and 2011, respectively. Please refer to the project PDD and other documents for more detailed information. 1

Monitoring Plan and Data 3.1 The Net Electricity Supplied By the Project The baseline and monitoring methodology applied for the proposed project is AMS I.D (Version 13): Grid Connected renewable electricity generation. 3.2 Relevant data necessary for determining the baseline of anthropogenic emission by sources of GHGs within the project boundary and how such data will be collected and archived Measured (m), Proportion How will the data ID Source Data Recording Data variable calculated (c), of data to be be archived? Data in 2010 and 2011 are attached in Annex 9 and Annex 10. For the project, 2 meters (M3 and M4) are used for the electricity monitoring. Figure 3-1 shows the installation situation of the meters for the project. M3, the revenue meter was reinstalled on Jan. 1, 2010 and it was verified according to related regulation (DL/T ) before installation. It is a two-way meter to record the electricity exported to the grid and the electricity imported to the project site. The type and accuracy of the reinstalled M3 is the same as the previous one. The calibration reports (Annex 8) of meters are valid for five years and are kept by project owner and will submit to GS-TAC during verification. M3 is calibrated by the qualified party (Electricity Measurement Center of Linxia Power Grid Company) every two years to ensure the accuracy. Since the gateway meter M4 is a meter installed on the project site for internal control and monitoring, the Technical Administrative Code of Electricity Energy Metering DL/T does not indicate the specific frequency of its calibration. Therefore, the calibration report upon it installation will be served as an additional check to confirm M4 operates smoothly, which has been verified during the 1 st verification. 2

5 The electricity generation data is measured continuously. For electricity exported to the grid, the monthly records issued by the grid company and the monthly invoices (Annex 9) are used for the cross check. The imported electricity data is measured continuously. The records and invoices (Annex 10) are used for the cross check. The records and invoices of electricity exported and imported are kept for the verification. QA/QC Besides data management procedure described above, other procedure is deployed by the project owner to ensure the operation and accuracy. 1) All staff is trained before they start their work. And regular training will be held to improve the performance of the staff. 2) Project owner has made a regulation for the on-site operation. All operation procedure should follow the requirements defined in the instruction. 3) Project owner will ask the gird company to calibrate the meters on two year base to ensure the accuracy. The calibration reports are kept by project owner and shown to GS-TAC during verification. In case the readings of ammeters are not within the allowed precision range at any month or the meter works abnormal, the net electricity supplied to facility is confirmed based on the conventional process accepted by project owner and Grid Company. If such situation happened, related proof should be kept by both parties and submitted to GS-TAC during verification. 4. GHG Calculations 4.1 Project activity emissions According to the methodology AMS-I.D (ver. 13), the project emission is not considered, and therefore, PEy = 0. Leakages According to the methodology AMS-I.D (ver.13), the project leakage is not considered, and therefore, Ly = Baseline Emissions Baseline Emissions are calculated by multiplying the Baseline Emission factor by annual power generation. BEy = EGy EFy Where: BEy is the baseline emissions of North West China Power Grid in year y EGy is the Net electricity supplied by the project to the grid in year y.
