3 GCE AND SAFETY PROTECTION SECURITY IN ACTION Safety is always a primary concern in an oxygen/fuel process and GCE is fully committed to the elimination of all risks in this process. A flashback is a very severe condition that happens when a back fire ignites the gases. In the worst case the ignited gas travels back through the equipment and into the gas cylinders causing an explosion with potentially fatal consequences. FLASHBACK BACKFIRE

4 SECURITY IN ACTION GCE AND SAFETY SOLUTIONS The principle behind the GCE Safe Guard safety system is to stop back fires as close to the torch handle as possible, to provide the operator with the best possible protection. By using GCE safety devices you can eliminate the danger a flash back can cause. GCE Safe Guard products meet all the requirements of the European governing standard EN730-2 and the international standard ISO5175.

5 GCE SAFETY PROTECTION RECOMMENDATIONS SECURITY IN ACTION A GOOD SAFETY SOLUTION As a minimum safety requirement, GCE recommend that flashback arrestors (GCE Safe-Guard-3) are always fitted to the outlet of the regulator and that safety devices (GCE Safe-Guard-1) are fitted to the inlets of the torch. This applies to both the oxygen and the fuel gas supplies. 1 FUNCTION SAFETY DEVICE 3 FUNCTION FLASHBACK ARRESTOR THE HIGHEST SAFETY SOLUTIONS To achieve the highest possible level of protection GCE recommend that a GCE Safe-Guard-5 is fitted to the outlet of the regulator and that a GCE Safe-Guard-2 is fitted to the inlets of the torch.
